New and Returning Plants for 2018!

2017 is almost over, and what a busy year it was for us! We enjoyed traveling to various events and seeing friends and customers as well as meeting many of you in person for the first time. We also sold out of several plants! Some of those sold out plants are returning for spring. Actaea simplex 'Hillside Black Beauty', Brunnera 'Alexander's Great', Helleborus 'Dark and Handsome, and Heuchera 'Georgia Peach' are a few.

We're also bringing back a few plants that have been absent from the catalog after several years. Astilbe 'Chocolate Shogun', Hosta 'Kinbotan', and Leucosceptrum 'Silver Angel' are all making returns.

As for NEW plants, we have a bunch! We're further expanding our Epimedium selections with 'Amber Queen', 'Purple Pixie', 'Frohnleiten', and 'Niveum'.

Hellebores were super popular last year and we're adding 'Blushing Bridesmaid', 'Confetti Cake', 'First Dance', 'Rio Carnival', and 'Rome in Red'.

We of course add more Heuchera every year, we're excited to add 'Black Pearl', 'Berry Timeless', 'Blackberry Ice', and 'Cinnamon Curls'.

We're further expanding our offerings of Primula, adding BELARINA VALENTINE, BELARINA NECTARINE, P. beesiana, P. cortusoides, P. veris 'Sunset Shades', & P. florindae.

And we're adding 19 more hostas, an assortment of sizes, colors and textures for every garden. 'Brother Stefan', 'Lakeside Paisley Print', 'World Cup', 'Natalie', 'Doubled Up', and so many more!

You can see the complete list of everything new here. Some of these might not be ready for spring shipping, especially some of the smaller hostas that will be later arrivals. We'll be noting that in their descriptions.

Order Process Changes

Every year we try to streamline our processes to make it more efficient, more affordable, or more convenient for us to do what we do and for our customers to shop with us.

In the past, we've opened up our website for orders right around now. This invariably led to having to send out refunds when we had crop failures or there were shortages from our suppliers. This is always disappointing to everyone involved. This year we've got the website updated with what we expect to have in stock, but we have everything set to out of stock. We'll set everything to in stock with appropriate quantities in March when new plants arrive and we have a better idea of winter survival of last year's stock.

If you absolutely can't wait and want to reserve something, you can! Simply email us or get a hold of us via Facebook and let us know what you want to order. We'll start an invoice for you, payable in late April or early May.

Events Wanted!

We have a great time at events and always want to find more places to sell plants and meet people. 2018 isn't shaping up like 2017 did; GBBG isn't having a garden fair in 2018 and for several reasons we've decided not to travel to the AHS convention in Philly. We will be at the Midwest Regional Hosta Convention in July and are planning to be at the Manitowoc Garden Fair in June, though this event isn't yet confirmed. We NEED more events to sell plants at!
