SPGE Financial Disclosure Training
The Kentucky Department for Local Government (DLG) held their Special Purpose Government Entity (SPGE) Financial Disclosure training at KIPDA on June 12th and 16th. For access to their presentation please click here.
The Draft 2015 CWSRF IUP is available for public review and comment from Jun 19, 2014 through Jul 21, 2014. The plan's contents will be discussed on July 9th at 1:30 PM at the offices of KIA, 1024 Capital Center Drive, Frankfort, KY. KIPDA-Funded Senior Centers
Senior centers across the country are implementing new innovative standards and practices when it comes to adopting programming, image, and marketing approaches. For example, in FY 2014, KIPDA-funded senior centers implemented models that will begin their evolution into the 21st century. Each of the senior centers in the KIPDA region has its own unique programming and each provides an excellent opportunity for recreation and socialization. KIPDA Diabetes Advocates Celebrate Victory
Advocates from the KIPDA Rural Diabetes Coalition (KRDC) and across the state have worked tirelessly to address to Frankfort the growing concern diabetes is taking on families within the Commonwealth. Their effort has helped bring this preventable and controllable disease to the forefront so that legislator's can tackle it in a more proactive manner. For more informationplease read here.
The National Family Caregiver Program (NFCP) is a federally funded program that offers services to Caregivers who are providing care for a person age 60 or older or to a person under 60 if they have a diagnosis of early onset dementia. KIPDA offers numerous services for Family Caregivers that have helped so many throughout our community. One of these individuals is Rose. Public Review for MTP, TIP, and Participation Plan Starts in July
This summer, three of the draft plans created by the KIPDA Transportation Division- the Metropolitan Transportation Plan, the Transportation Improvement Plan and the Participation Plan- will undergo the public review process. Public Review for the MTP and the TIP starts July 13th and goes through August 11th. Public Review for the Participation Plan starts July 26th and goes through September 8th. An open-house format public meeting is scheduled at the Highlands Library for July 28th at 4-6:30 PM, and at the Jeffersonville Library on July 31st from 4-6:30 PM. Ohio River Bridges Project Update
Construction on the Downtown and East End Bridges is ongoing and is now having more of an impact on residents in the KIPDA region. Expect the Clark Memorial Bridge to be shut down for six weeks beginning July 8th. For more information about the project and areas effected by the construction please read here.
Jeffersontown Streetscapes Are in Full Swing this Summer
New things are continuing to happen in Jeffersontown. One of these exciting projects that is keeping "J-Town's" downtown thriving is the Monticello inspired $3.5 million streetscape renovation project.
