Winter weather brings Teanaway recreation opportunities

For cold-weather camping lovers and snowmobilers, Teanaway Community Forest has a lot to offer in the winter. While the Teanaway Campground closed Nov. 15, 29 Pines Campground and Indian Camp remain open at this time.

Once snow grooming starts, groomers will leave a snow berm on the Teanaway Middle Fork Road near the end of the county road. After that time, only snowmobiles, other tracked vehicles with skis and non-motorized activities will be allowed beyond the berm and Indian Camp Campground will be closed. You can expect grooming on the groomed snowmobile routes will begin at that time, too.

Twenty-nine Pines Campground will remain open year-round, but it won’t be snow plowed. For more information and future status updates, check our website
