New in Teanaway Community Forest

Water, fish and wildlife top advisory committee meeting topics

The Teanaway Community Forest Advisory Committee met September 11 to discuss objectives for managing the forest’s fish and wildlife as well as its water supply.  

The Washington departments of Natural Resources (DNR) and Fish and Wildlife (WDFW) are developing a management plan, which is due by June 30, 2015, with significant input from the community-based advisory committee.

Next Advisory Committee meeting

The next advisory committee meeting is scheduled for Thursday, October 9.

Volunteer opportunity in the Teanaway

Grab your boots and gloves and join a work party at Teanaway Campground on September 27.

DNR is organizing the event, which is scheduled to take place from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.. Volunteers will help pick up litter and perform other routine maintenance at the Teanaway Campground, located about half of a mile down West Fork Teanaway Road.

Volunteers should bring lunches and water, work boots and gloves and dress appropriately for weather. Learn more on the DNR Volunteer Calendar.
