Starting Fresh

As an electives teacher, my classes are only a single semester. On Monday, I start semester two. I'm looking forward to meeting and working with an entirely new batch of students. As you gear up for the week, I hope you too have something to look forward to!

This week I wrote a piece called What if Professional Development Wasn't Horrible? In it, I urge teachers to participate in "edchats" on Twitter. This is one of those links that you simply want to bookmark (or save into Evernote), because at some point you're going to need a class set of rulers. The last thing you're going to want to do is buy them. Instead, simply print them from Printable-Rulers.net. They don't last too long, but they're quick, easy, and worth adding to your toolkit.

DJ Khaled

I've got to be honest, sometimes I have no idea what my students are talking about - a consequence of aging I suppose. If you're like me, you've probably overheard your students reference DJ Khaled. Who is DJ Khaled? I didn't really know until I read this: The Old Person's Guide to DJ Khaled.
