Western LLS is inviting stakeholders to tender for Stock Watering Place (SWP) leases in the Western region.

Leases will be for a four and a quarter year term, from 1 July 2019 to 30 September 2023.

Tenders are currently open with applications closing at 4:30 pm Friday 21 June 2019; and will only be accepted for the permitted uses of watering and grazing livestock, or conservation.

SWPs in the Western Division have been leased out since the late 1800s.

SWPs landlocked within properties will initially only be offered to the surrounding property landholder for tender, to mitigate biosecurity and community conflict risks.

If the surrounding property landholder does not wish to tender, the SWP may be opened for competitive tender.

Tender applications must be submitted on the approved tender form, which is included in the SWP lease tender pack, available on the Western LLS website and below.

For further information or assistance with SWP lease tenders, landholders can contact Senior Land Services Officer, Kerryn Hart on (03) 5021 9401 or via her email

This is the first SWP lease tender that has been offered for several years because of the constraints with the travelling stock reserve or TSR Review. With the TSR Review published and the TSR Plan of Management near finalisation, Western LLS is able to run the SWP lease tenders.
