Advisory Groups - providing input into local projects and programs

Since it was formed in 2014, Western LLS has sought and continues to seek input and advice from advisory groups to help shape its strategic direction. These groups have played an important role in the projects and programs that have been rolled out by Western LLS, while also offering feedback on areas of importance for local landholders and communities while highlighting areas of opportunity and growth.

After operating under a community groups model loosely based in geographical areas, the Board of Western LLS felt the time was right to move away from that structure and utilise the industry specific advisory groups that have become established over time. These industry specific groups incorporate members with varying backgrounds from throughout the Western region who all bring different skills, experiences and qualities to their roles.

The five industry specific advisory groups are:
  • Weeds Advisory Committee
  • Regional Pest Animal Committee
  • Kangaroo Management Taskforce
  • Agricultural Services and Natural Resource Management Advisory Group
  • Aboriginal Community Advisory Group.

Calls for expressions of interest

Western LLS is currently recruiting members for the Agricultural Services and Natural Resource Management Advisory Group and Aboriginal Community Advisory Group.

Interested landholders and community members with a background or knowledge in agricultural services and/or natural resource management, along with members of the Aboriginal community, are invited to submit an expression of interest to join their relevant group.

It is recommended that interested parties read the draft terms of reference prior to applying.

*Note the terms of reference are currently in draft form and will be confirmed at the first meeting of the groups.

Expressions of interest for both the Agricultural Services and Natural Resource Management Advisory Group and Aboriginal Community Advisory Group are due by Friday, 16 November 2018.

Until next time...

Thanks for taking the time to read this important update from Western LLS.
