AAU NEWS: Issue 69

Secretary General's Message

Dear Colleagues,

I bring you warm greetings from the Association of African Universities Secretariat here in Ghana. The first half of 2018 has been a very busy and fulfilling period for the Association. As you know, we launched the AAU Television Initiative on the 6th April 2018 – initially we are streaming via our Face Book Page https://www.facebook.com/AAU67/.

This initiative has gone extremely well and has resulted in increasing the number of followers of AAU Social media Pages, increasing the visibility of the AAU and growing the amount of digital content produced and shared by the Association. We have produced 221 videos to date, our Face Book page has over 76,000 followers and we have received very encouraging feedback concerning our AAU TV Initiative.

It is our hope that through the AAU TV we will engage with our member institutions more successfully, profile African Higher Education success stories more efficiently and be more effective in advocating for changes and improvement in African Higher Education

The AAU Governing Board successfully met in Accra Ghana from the 5th to the 6th June 2018 to deliberate on the Association’s business. This was the first meeting of the new Board that was elected by the General Conference in 2017.

The Association has also been engaged in running several fee-based Capacity Building workshops for its network. Please visit the AAU Blog to see the upcoming workshops: https://blog.aau.org/

Please receive issue 69 of the AAU News and disseminate it widely within your network.

Yours in the Service of Higher Education in Africa
