PrePex at the AIDS 2014 Conference – Melbourne, Australia

Following our participation in AIDS 2014, we would like to thank the delegates from all around the world who visited the PrePex booth, and showed their support of PrePex and its ability to scale-up VMMC programs in Sub-Saharan Africa.
Within the framework of the conference, a special session entitled "Offering VMMC programs with PrePex" led by CHAPS (Center for HIV and AIDS Prevention Studies) brought together PrePex implementers, senior researchers, founders and government officials. Among the latter were the Hon. Sarah Aceng Opendi (Uganda’s State Minister for Health; Primary Health Care) and Ms Qedani Dorothy Mahlangu (Gauteng MEC for Health, South Africa).
Together with PrePex implementing partners, we were able to share the latest improvements in increasing the safety and efficacy of the PrePex device - not only for the benefit of male VMMC clients, but for the entire healthcare system. If you wish to receive the CHAPS session summary please contact us at
Light of Inspiration
We extend our deepest condolences to the families, friends and colleagues of the delegates on flight MH-17 who tragically lost their lives on their way to the AIDS 2014 Conference. Now, more than ever, we stand united in the fight against HIV/AIDS. While we will always remember them, we are inspired to follow their legacy and continue their determined efforts towards an AIDS-FREE world.  May they rest in peace.
Thanks to all our supporters from around the world who came to visit
the PrePex booth at the AIDS 2014 Conference!

PrePex and Africa Goal cooperating for HIV Prevention

A lively project creates awareness of HIV prevention and services
across countries in Sub-Saharan Africa

The aptly-named Africa Goal project was originally initiated for the 2006 World Cup games by a group of individuals who saw the potential in using people’s love of soccer for the purpose of addressing HIV issues. Africa Goal harnesses the popularity and unifying power of football by screening live World Cup matches on a massive screen, and using this platform to provide access to life-saving HIV information and services. The project comprised two vehicles and a staff of 10 volunteers. These enterprising individuals drove across Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, Malawi, Zambia and Zimbabwe between June 12 and July 13, 2014.

Prior to and during the campaign, Africa Goal and PrePex collaborated in reaching out to partner organizations who led HIV awareness activities and promoted VMMC during the events. To read more click here.

PrePex/Circ MedTech is proud to promote Africa Goal and support its activities of advocating voluntary medical male circumcision, condom use and other HIV prevention methods.
