Giant Leaps Toward Making MORE Noyes
We are happy to report some great progress in the Make MORE Noyes renovation campaign to increase the usable space at Noyes Library, make the Library universally accessible, and expand its early literacy mission.  First, the County and the Foundation signed a Memorandum of Understanding that outlines the plans for finalizing the renovation design and raising funds. Second, the Town of Kensington has committed $25,000 toward the campaign! Click below to be part of the dedicated team supporting Noyes and its future.

Fantastic Slate

of Summer Programs

Check out the fantastic list of programs that are being offered at Noyes this summer.  Highlights include the Foundation's Penny Theater performance of Eric Carle's "Very Hungry Caterpillar" on June 22 at 6:30 p.m., and a chance to meet a farm animal from the Montgomery County Fair on July 9.  While you're at Noyes, make sure to sign your children up for the "On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!" Summer Read and Learn program.

Inspiring Leadership Present ...

Jan Jablonski, the Foundation's Co-President and one of its original founders, was honored by Montgomery County as a winner of the "Montgomery Serves Award," for her tireless work on behalf of Noyes Children's Library. Read more about the awards here.

 ... and Past

On a sad note, one of the Foundation's co-founders, Barbara Hutchinson, the driving force behind the successful campaign to keep Noyes open in the 1990s and the longtime director of Outdoor Nursery School, passed away in April. This photo was taken in 1993 at the 100th birthday of Noyes Library. Pictured, left to right: Mary Stimson, Jan Jablonski, Abigail Adelman and Hutchinson.  To make a donation to the Foundation in Hutchinson's memory, click here.

Community Grant Awarded by Edelman Public Relations

A donation to support the Penny Theater Program for literacy outreach was recently granted to the Noyes Foundation by Edelman Public Relations. The funds will be used to create additional miniature puppet shows depicting favorite children's books. We thank Edelman for its support!

Author Spotlight: Priscilla Cummings

Books about the Chesapeake Bay are perfect summer reads. Annapolis author Priscilla Cummings has written several, including Beddy Bye in the Bay and Chadwick the Crab.

Read more about Cummings and find her books at Noyes and other libraries.

The Noyes Children’s Library Foundation launched the Make MORE Noyes Campaign to fund a major renovation of the 123-year-old library, making it accessible to those with physical disabilities for the first time in history.
