“It’s Friday…but Sunday is coming.” For Christians, this month is a month of remembrance and celebration. On Friday, April 19, we will observe Good Friday as we remember the death of Jesus. Jesus took it upon himself to bear our sins and take our punishment. He died for all of us.
Then, on Sunday, April 21, we will celebrate the resurrection of Jesus. He lives!! Through His death, burial, and resurrection we are offered the gift of salvation and eternal life with Him.
I pray that as we go through this month, enjoy our spring break and celebrate Jesus’ resurrection, that we will take time to remember everything that Jesus has done for us.
Also, we are very close to the end of the school year. We have already started making our plans for next year and are excited about what God has in store for us here at CBS. Please continue to pray for our faculty and staff.
Thank you for partnering with Curtis Baptist School.

All campers participate in Curtis Baptist Church's VBS the week of June 10-14. Camp will run from May 28 - July 26 and will be set up on a pay-by-week basis. Registration fee includes all field trip costs and t-shirt. Lunch is also included in the weekly fee. Camp is for rising 1st through 6th graders. Elementary School News
Test week has flown by and students and teachers alike are breathing a sigh of relief. Thankfully, testing is just a season. When was the last time you were “tested”? As a parent, I know that I am tested daily by the bickering of my two children. I am tested when things do not go according to my plans. I am tested when I do not see eye-to-eye with someone. And as a result of this “testing”, what fruit comes forth? Do I lovingly respond and discipline according to God’s Word? Do I view an interruption as a divine opportunity to be a witness for Christ? Do I seek to be a peacemaker, laying down my rights? The book of James says, “Count it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance." (James 1:2-3) Do I count God’s testing as “pure joy” or do I despise His refining process? I pray that as we parent, as we teach, as we do life together, that we would not only be hearers of the Word, but doers as well.
Elementary Field Days are coming up on May 2 and 3. We need many volunteers and would love for parents to be involved. You can contact Coach Joe at email@example.com if you are able to help out.

Middle & High School News
Many of our Middle and High School students have kept the roads busy with all of their travels from Charleston, SC to Kissimmee, FL. We thank the Lord for giving safety and good weather while they were away. We also want to thank the parents, faculty, and staff who worked so diligently to ensure the trips were successful. A special “shout out” to Mr. Charles Holaway who drove the bus and acted as a chaperone on a number of the trips. His professionalism as a driver was very evident as he navigated the traffic in the Kissimmee/Disney areas.
The seniors were a stellar group while on the senior trip. They left a positive impression of CBS everywhere they visited. It was gratifying to see the group as they made memories that will last a lifetime.
Here are their trip highlights:
Josh, Austin, Lizzie, and Rebecca liked spending time with everyone.
Jordan Ashley, Bill and Nick said the theme parks were the most fun.
Elise enjoyed the volleyball game; Jackson liked the basketball games.
D. J. loved the fact that there was plenty of good food.
Chloe, Kaley, and Angela went for the roller coasters.
Natalie said the Medieval Times was one her favorite attractions.
It is going to be hard to say farewell to this class.

Silent Auction 2019 - Building Servant Leaders
Thank you to all our Curtis Baptist School friends and families for a great night at the Silent Auction on Saturday, March 30. The Activities Area was full, the steak dinner was delicious and the live auction had great participation. The list of generous donors can be found here. We look forward to the impact the funds raised will have as we look to upgrade the courtyard along 13th Street.
