As we prepared for the start of the 2020/21 school year, we had plans and protocols in place, but we still had the uncertainty of not just how the year would go regarding COVID but what would happen with each passing day. Although our theme for the year was F.O.C.U.S. I also believe that another word that could be used in looking back over the course of this year is perseverance.
I have to commend our faculty for their hard work not only in what they already do, but the added responsibility of providing online assignments as needed. Thank you to our parents, for your understanding and working with us throughout this year. Thank you again for your prayers.
Now it is time for everyone to relax, refresh, and recharge. I hope that everyone has a safe and enjoyable summer break.
The leadership team will be working this summer preparing for the new school year and we will be praying for another successful year at Curtis. In mid-July we will be sending out communication regarding the upcoming 2021/22 school year. We will communicate regarding any updates to our handbooks and other events in preparation for the new school year.
Thank you again for partnering with Curtis Baptist School and have a safe summer.

CBS Families, thank you for your continued support throughout the school year. I enjoyed seeing the students learn and grow as the school year progressed. It was a blessing to be able to enjoy face to face Kindergarten Graduation and Elementary School Awards Program. Our students worked so hard all school year and it was an honor to celebrate them. Enjoy your summer break; I can’t wait to hear the students' adventures. See you next school year.

Daycare & Preschool News
With the start of summer, it is not a goodbye, but a see-ya-later for many of our daycare/preschool students and families. Ten month students have completed their 2020-2021 school year and are out for the summer. Year-round students are excitedly waiting for the fun that is coming next week with a review of the curriculum and varying summer activities in their current classes! Post assessments for 3K and 4K will be sent home over the next few weeks so parents have an overview of their child's progress this year.
We are starting off summer camp for rising 1st grade through rising 6th grade on Tuesday, June 1st. Adventures in the Bible is our summer camp theme this year and we are excited about some previous daycare staff joining us for the fun.
Thank you to all of our families for their consistent support, encouragement, and joy they bring. We cannot thank you enough for the understanding in our transitions this year. Ms. Meagan Jones is pursuing a position in her future Human Services degree. We are very thankful for the four years she has served at CBS Daycare, the thoughtfulness, and herjoyful personality that she has brought to the daycare/preschool. Meagan will be GREATLY missed.
Please do not forget to stop and say "see-ya-later" next week. We are praying everyone has a great summer and stays cool!!

Below are listed the Students of the Month for the year 2020-2021.
Two students each month, one from Middle School and one from High School are chosen each month by teachers based on Christian service, positive attitude toward faculty, staff, and peers, involvement outside of academic expectation and regard for others.
They received a certificate of recognition and gift card to Chick-Fil-A during the month they were nominated.

Each year CBS Middle School students participate in the DAR Essay Competition as part of their history class with Mrs. Michelle Sterling. This year's topic was "The Boston Massacre." Congratulations to Loralei Goebel and Audrey Barefield for placing so well in the competition. Loralei's essay was the CSRA's 7th-grade winner and went on to win the contest for the North East Region of Georgia and compete at the state level! Audrey's essay was the 8th-grade winner for the CSRA and went on to compete in the North East Region as well. Mrs. Sterling and CBS are so proud of these students!
