Tea Info Shelf

As you know green tea has many good effects. In the previous edition we talked about one of it's components - theanine. This time let's look closer at another components - catechin.

Catechin is an antioxidant, that assists our immune system. It also helps to clear our body from free radicals, that would otherwise attack and damage healthy cells. Additionally it helps to speed up metabolism and is said assist in weight loss. More information about he positive effect of green tea on our website here.

We need to mention though, that while it has many positive effects, catechin is responsible for the bitter taste in tea. Catechin is produced in the tea leaves through exposure to the sunlight. So teas grown in the full sunshine will have a larger amount of catechins. Sencha of the Summer Sun is this season's tea grown in full sunshine.

Events of the Past Month - Summer Tea Picking and Making Event

Summer harvesting season has just finished, but before it did we had invited our tea friends to a summer tea picking and rolling event. Around 30 people came for a fun day in a beautiful tea countryside, and what a surprise - for the first time more than half of the attendees were from abroad. We had guests from Brasil, Turkey, Spain, Italy, France and others countries. It was wonderful to host such an international group of tea friends.
