Diversified School can be hard to define. It comes after Secondary School, coincides with Middle School in the States. Students are around the age of 15 when they graduate from Secondary School (also known as Basics in Guatemala). But when entering Diversified School, students must make a choice. Diversified School follows a more European model, where student choose a track to specialize in before going to the University. Secondary School is the last level of general education. DIversified School offers the option to get a certification or basic degree to prepare students for a job, or a major in the University.
For a few years now, we've had just one track: a basic degree in computers. But last year, our Academic Director, Heyson, put in a lot of hours and we got authorization for four new options: Accounting, Bilingual Secretary, Electronic Devices, and Lori's dream of Education. That's right. Morning Glory is now teaching teachers. This year, we aren't opening the Accounting track, but we have students in all the others. We are proud of the team (made up of new hires and faithful MG teachers) who has stepped up to plan this new venture in less-than-ideal circumstances, but we are thankful to God who went ahead and made this a fairly easy process. We love opening up new opportunities to the community we serve.
