African Diaspora Network is delighted to announce the official application launch for the third cohort of Accelerating Black Leadership and Entrepreneurship (ABLE).

ABLE is an enterprise accelerator designed to strengthen, energize, and support startups and small businesses led by Black entrepreneurs in the United States. The program identifies Black business leaders with impact-oriented solutions at the local and national level addressing essential community needs while spurring sustainable growth. A special thank you to our ABLE funders for your support in making this third cohort possible. We also thank our ecosystem partners for amplifying this exciting opportunity.

Since the inception of the ABLE program in 2021, the program has graduated 27 innovative entrepreneurs in various sectors from technology to renewable energy to agriculture. This year, we seek to expand our reach and support 15-20 Black entrepreneurs from underrepresented sectors such as engineering, sciences, architecture, art and education, and more.

Apply today! Applications are due by 11:59 PM PDT on Wednesday, June 14th. Interested applicants can learn more at the June 1 ABLE Info Session

The Role of Youth in Shifting Narratives of Africa

The African diaspora plays a pivotal role in shaping the narrative of Africa. The African Diaspora Network, based in the Silicon Valley, Santa Clara, CA, is made up of many diasporan leaders and institutions who are making a tremendous impact in Africa and the communities in which they live.

Among these leaders are students who are invested in creating change – whether it be in promoting a positive narrative in their daily interactions with fellow students and professors, creating impact-driven businesses with the continent in mind, and intentionally engaging in cultural experiences where they can be a part of conversations around Africa.

Join the African Diaspora Network and Africa No Filter for the webinar, "The Role of Youth in Shifting Narratives of Africa" on June 7, 2023 at 8am-9am PST to hear from students who are shaping the narrative of Africa in the communities they live.
