During the Holidays at GHC

Happy New Year from GHC and InTouch!

Our previous edition was on 14th December and while it was relatively quiet over the Christmas period there are still plenty of things to report.

Seven teams of Junior players participated in Surbiton's annual Under 13 Tournament.

Three Junior teams played in the South Indoor Qualifiers - the Under 18 Boys won their tournament, retaining their South title and qualifying for National Finals.

Dan Fox ran indoor and outdoor Junior camps with 120 junior players across the three dayst!

The Under 18 Boys Indoor team hosted a travelling team from Melbourne Australia!

The Under 14 Girls played in the annual HockeyIndoor tournament at the Copperbox in London achieving a 4th place finish out of 16 teams.

The Under 14s played a friendly v Dads - a good time was had by all!
This Weekend at GHC

Not the best start to the New Year hockey as matches were called off mid-week already and tonight will also be quiet as outdoor junior squad training is NOT going ahead this evening due to -2 forecast..

Indoor Under 6s is ON as usual 6-7pm in the Broadwater Hall.

Please get used to checking the GHC website Home Page including the twitter feed on the left hand column to check for updates during the cold weather.

Saturday leagues start up again for six of our Senior teams with Ladies' 2s, Men's 4s and Gondoliers playing at home in addition to the Ladies 4s v Ladies 5s match also at home. Men's 2s are away.

The Gondoliers are back in action on Sunday as are the Under 16 Girls in the league and Under 14/15 Boys at Charterhouse alongside several training sessions to re-start the season.

Race Night - Saturday 26 January 2019

Be sure to get your tickets for Race Night on Saturday 26 January. It was hugely successful last year and we’re hoping to build on its success this year.

Doors open at 7.30pm and it’s £5 admission which includes a hot dinner and programme.

If you've not experienced a Race Night before, the basic format is that a number of horse races are shown to guests on a large screen, and you can place bets on each race at totes set up and run by the club.

Each person is given a race card showing which horses and jockeys are in each race. You are of course playing with real money so there is a good chance to take home some winnings…or otherwise just have a great night!!

Tickets are available every Friday evening at the clubhouse or from a member of the Ladies section.

We are also looking for race sponsors. As a race sponsor, for £25 you (or your company’s) name would be announced at the start of that race and advertised on the Race Card. If you would like to be a sponsor or can think of someone else (or a company) that might be interested please see/share the attached sponsorship letter.

Get your tickets quick to avoid disappointment for this really popular event!
