Guildford HC Win Active Surrey Sports Awards 2019!

Congratulations and thanks to all who have helped Guildford HC thrive through what has been an outstanding year.

We know how well we've done, but it is really nice to be recognised also in the community.

The Club have won three awards in this year's Active Surrey Awards:
  • Sport Godalming Club Excellence - Sports Club of the Year
  • Sport Godalming Sports Team of the Year - GHC Ladies 1st XI
  • Sport Guildford Youth Sports Team of the Year - GHC Boys Under 18s

To see what the awards mean and how much the Boys Under 18s, Ladies 1s and the whole Club accomplished last season, have a look here at our
Club News article.

There are no doubt amazing things happening in every corner of GHC - please send in your photos and stories so we can celebrate them in our community.

And once again, a massive well done to every single person who takes on a job no matter how small - many hands make light work.

GHC - A Great Place to Play

The Men's Shadows had a tough game on Saturday, but captain James Higgins received some really pleasing feedback from his opposition counterpart after the match.

"Hi James,

I just wanted to drop you a quick message to say it was such a joy to play you guys yesterday.

Your team was a real class act, good sportsmanship throughout, willingness to wait as long as we could for our delayed guys.

Everyone was fair when we played, no one kicked off, got chippy or yappy. It was all about hockey and playing the game none of this BS you get with 99% of the other teams out there.

A real breath of fresh air, I can't remember a time I actually played a game like this.

When I mentioned this to the other OKs Mens captains here, they all echoed my same thoughts whenever they've played a Guilford team.

Best of luck for the remainder and see you in the new year."

Bravo to James and all of the Shadows. Three Active Surrey Awards and that feedback all in the same week - we must be doing something right!

Keep up the great work, everyone!

Welcome New GHC Partner/Sponsor!

GHC are very excited to announce our newest partner, Guildford Business Park. Many of you will be familiar with the park - a familiar site for commuters on and off the A3 near Ladymead in Guildford. Make sure to think of it in any dealings you may have with people looking for grat office space...

With fast access to both the rail and motorway network, Guildford Business Park is ideally located for modern business. You have access to a highly educated and skilled work force, as well as the young talent coming out of Guildford’s University of Surrey. It’s no surprise that household names such as Philips, Enstar and Colgate Palmolive have already decided to make it their home.

Designed to offer fun and rewarding lifestyle opportunities for all tenants, Guildford Business Park provides a range of opportunities both on and off the park, from weekly sporting activities to dry cleaning, self-defence workshops and even express manicures.

Events are hosted throughout the year, including; summer BBQs, Christmas festivities and sporting themed celebrations, all taking place at the newly refurbished Caffè Kix conveniently located on the site.

Tenants are also entitled to an exclusive privilege card which enables them to enjoy discounts and promotions at some of Britain’s best loved food and retail outlets in Guildford, as well as a number of leisure and entertainment attractions.

The park also runs regular shuttle buses to and from the station.

It sounds like a winning place to be - the perfect partner for a growing and thriving GHC. Make sure to tell your friends and colleagues about GBP!
