|Last Weekend at GHC
GHC won their first title of 2019 - the Under 18 Boys retained their National Indoor crown
over the weekend in the EH Club Super6s Championships in Telford!
The M1s shared the spoils in their top of table clash with Trojans on Saturday. This leaves the GHC Men one point ahead
of Trojans just past the halfway point of the season.
The L1s had their final mid-season warm-up match against Wimbledon 1As who play in the Division above - a good test ahead of the league re-start.
L3s, L4s and L5s all won
their matches scoring 17 goals and conceding 3
! While the L2s had a narrow 1-2 loss.
All Men's games were very tight with 2 draws, 1-0 win, 2-0 win, and the 2s and 3s both losing by only one goal 2-3.
In EH Cup action, our Mixed 1st XI team beat Horsham 3-2 in Tier 2 of the Cup
while the Mixed 2nd XI (also in Tier 2) lost 0-6 to Southampton.

The Ladies 1s re-start their league campaign tomorrow after the long mid-season break with an away match at mid-table Epsom. Good luck, Ladies!
The Men's 1s are at home 13:30 against Woking
- come and support!
Overall 11 senior teams are in action on Saturday - best of luck to all!
On Sunday we have a number of Under 10 and 12 teams playing 7-a-side matches and also plenty of Junior League matches.

|GHC Under 18 Boys Retain Their Indoor National Title
GHC Under 18 Boys retained their South Indoor title in December, winning 7 out of 7 matches, scoring 30 goals and conceding only 3.
This qualified them for the National Indoor Finals which included the top two teams from each of 5 regions from across the country.
GHC were reigning Champions going into the competition and with four boys from last year's starting line-up in the team - and the Coach who helped them win it - the boys were keen to defend their title.
The boys topped their pool, dropping no points, scoring 13 goals and letting in a tournament low of 2 in the pool stage (average goals scored against in the pool stage was 12!).
This set up a cross-over semi-final with Marlow, who had clawed their way to second in their pool after losing their first two matches. A tight match ended in a draw and GHC won the shoot-out to set up a final against Bowdon who had won all of their matches up to that point.
Bowdon also had a good defensive record having let in only 5 goals in the pool stage and 1 in their semi-final v Beeston. It was a hotly contested final with GHC scoring in the ninth minute and both teams having difficulty getting past the other's defence.
When Bowdon opted for a kicking back with 2 1/2 minutes on the clock the Guildford boys' maturity and mettle showed with some watertight defending, keeping all attacks at bay and stealing the ball from Bowdon in the waning seconds of the match to end it 2-0.
A fantastic weekend for the boys and for GHC!
Huge thanks to Dan Fox and Ed Tristem who coached them through the South competition and Ed who now has a 100% BU18 indoor Coaching record at National Finals!
See below for the detailed tournament report.

GHC First Aid Kits - Do You Have One?
Last season the club bought First Aid kits for each team in the club.
We had an up to date list of who had which kit. With changes of Captains and leaders within squads and age groups, the list is no longer up to date.
If you have a First Aid kit, please let Michelle know (for which team/age group).
If you are a Captain or Squad Manager, please let Michelle know who is responsible for your kit.
Thanks in advance so that we can make sure we know where all of the kits are.
Please note that you can re-stock your First Aid kit with Michelle or her helpers on a Friday night at the club.
England Hockey require a form filled in for each injury (no matter how small) so they can track data and trends on injuries across the country - this can lead to rules changes so is really important.
Please fill in the form each time - it takes less than a minute - and hand to Michelle or leave in the office in the clubhouse.
