Snow Has Finally Arrived at Broadwater and Charterhouse
 

The Beast seemed to be dumping snow everywhere but on GHC pitches - but Emma is now here and the pitches are white. And likely to remain so for at least a day or two.
  • Friday Junior training 2 March - all sessions cancelled.
  • Saturday matches are very doubtful.
  • Sunday matches are unlikely - but you never know.

Stay active, stay fit, but mostly, stay safe in this winter weather.

Be sure to check with your Captain or Squad Manager. Also check the GHC Twitter feed (which shows on the left hand side of the GHC website Home page in case you are not on Twitter) for updates.
Matches This Weekend


If the pitches are fine, both Men and Ladies 1st teams are away at Staines and Horsham.

The Ladies 1st XI are now firmly in the number 2 spot in their league table and tied on points with the leader though will need to work on goal difference or beat Wanderers (who have a massive +60 GD to our very high +43) on 17/3 to overtake them. Watch this space.

Other possible matches on Saturday include home matches for the L2s, M2s, L5s, M3, and Pilgrims.

Sunday has a long list of junior fixtures from U8s to U16s.

In addition, a number of our U14-17 top players will be involved in England Hockey Performance Centre training in an all day event where two centres train together (weather permitting of course!).

Under 12s Win County Medals

Four teams of Under 12s were in action in Surrey County tournaments on Sunday and three of them came home with medals.

The Under 12 Boys A Team just missed out on the Final but won the Bronze medal match and qualify for South Region Finals in the end of April


The Under 12 Boys B Team were undefeated all day, scoring 16 goals and letting in 0. They just missed out on Gold in a penalty shoot-out after a 0-0 draw. Silver in the Plate competition which included 20 teams from across Surrey.


The Under 12 Girls A and B Teams both competed in the Girls Surrey Cup. The A team just missed out getting to the Final. A well earned Bronze place for them, coming 3rd out of 16 teams. And in a tough pool, the B team just missed out on getting to a play-off.

The Under 10 Boys and Girls play their Surrey tournaments Sunday 11 March (the Girls at GHC) and the Under 12 Girls are in their Surrey Plate on Sunday 18 March.

Summer Hockey Starts Wednesday 4 April

Wednesday evening Summer Hockey is back!

Reminder that every Wednesday starting 4 April, we run mixed, social, half pitch games for all. Men, Ladies and Juniors (must be at least 13 years old) all welcome.

Please arrive 7:30pm for arrangement of teams.

ProSticks Academy October in Sardinia


GHC Director of Junior Coaching Dan Fox along with GB Rio Gold Medallist Georgie Twigg are returning to Forte Village in October for another ProSticks Hockey Academy.

Juniors ages 8 to 13 can take advantage of this opportunity for small group training in a stunning setting during the half term break 22-26 October:
