Second Hand Kit Sale Tonight
Friday 31 Jan 6:30-8pm

Do you need to stock up or do you have any kit that you’re willing to donate?

If so, please come along on Friday night and drop off your goods (from 6pm) and have a rummage (from 6.30pm).

The sale table includes:
  • outgrown sticks and shoes
  • GHC tops, shorts and skirts (mostly for children up to age 12, although there are a few items in larger sizes)
  • and a full goalie kit
Special thanks go to Lisa Nichols and her family for kindly donating a full goalie kit, likely to fit a girl aged 12+ or ladies small.

We do hope that this will be a useful way for many of you to stock up on kit cost-effectively, while also raising some funding for the club.

If anyone has any queries or is interested in buying the goalie kit as a whole, please get in touch with Cindy by email (frosticks@gmail.com).

Thank you - and thanks to Cindy for organising the collection and sale!

Last Weekend's Results

Thirteen GHC Senior teams were in action on Saturday 25 January including the Ladies' 1s who hadn't had an outdoor league match since before Christmas.

And they were straight back into their stride with a big win at Teddington (see match report below).

Apologies to the L2s whose 2-0 Win last week was reported as a 2-2 (W). An unfortunate typo (thanks to those of you who are paying attention!).

Last week:
P13: W7 D4 L2

Ladies' Leagues
Ladies' 1s v Teddington 7-1 (W)
Ladies' 2s v London Acad's 1-1 (D)
Ladies' 3s v Barnes 5-1 (W)
Ladies' 4s v Leatherhead 6-0 (W)
Ladies' 5s v Old Cranleighans 3-3 (D)
Ladies' 6s v Spencer 0-8 (L)

Men's Leagues
Men's 1s v Tunbridge Wells 3-3 (D)
Men's 2s v Purley Walcount's 2-1 (W)
Men's Shadows v BoE 4-0 (W)
Men's 3s v Old Reigatian 4-0 (W)
Men's 4s v Surbiton 0-1 (L)
Men's Cavaliers
Men's Pilgrims v Old Kingston's 2-2 (D)
Men's Gondoliers v Havant 5-0 (W)

For the Juniors on Sunday, notable matches came from the Girls U12 'Gazelles' who drew with the team at the top of their Girls Under 14 league table. The GHC girls are doing well and are second in the table against bigger, older teams.

Another Girls Under 12 team (there are many of them!) won their 11-a-side league match 7-0.

The Girls Under 14 A side beat Marlow's U14 Prem team to stay second in the Premier league table with two matches still to play.

The Boys Under 14 A side had a good match against Knole Park who were very complimentary of our team. It was 4-0 in the end to keep our boys in second place in the Premier league table with two games still to play.

The Girls Under 16 A team played a rain-soaked friendly against the Alton Under 18 Girls - Alton were very appreciative as they have had trouble getting opposition for their U18s. Great practice for our girls and a few goals scored as well.

New First Aid Kits!

If you played at home last weekend you might have noticed the new First Aid kits for our home pitches.

Please note that there is a RED First Aid kit bag for each pitch - labelled "Blue" or "Sand". (Please don't take the green ones - which need to stay where they are on the wall.)

The team playing the first match of the day needs to collect the kit from the entrance to the bar (upstairs in the clubhouse) and take it to the pitch,

The last team to play on either pitch must return the kit to the bar at the end of the day's matches.

Please remember to complete an injury report for each injury. England Hockey collect these - the more data the better as they continue to monitor the sport along with the FIH and other NGB's for the safety of all.

Please hand in reports to Michelle Fussell or the First Aid room (first door on the left as you enter the clubhouse from outside.)

A special Thank You to Hartington Financial Consultancy Ltd whose generous sponsorship helped us replace the green First Aid boxes that had broken and update with fresh supplies.

Also, Thank You to Michelle Fussell for acquiring and organising the new bags and supplies!

Second Hand Kit Sale:
Friday 31 January

Many thanks in advance to those of you that are able to support us. It’s hugely appreciated!  - this is a great opportunity for many people to stock up on kit, cut back on waste, and generate some funds for the club, too.

What to donate?

Any outgrown or un-needed GHC hockey kit would be hugely appreciated, particularly tops, shorts, skorts, jackets, trackies or socks.

It’s also a great opportunity to recycle outgrown hockey sticks, shoes, shin pads or gloves. In short, anything you can pass on would be greatly received.

Where to bring it?

Your second hand kit can be handed in to the club bar at Broadwater on Friday nights or collected from Charterhouse.

How will the money be used?

This season we are investing in video equipment that can be used by the whole club. Video analysis is incredibly useful for coaching.

If you have any queries about the sale or need to make arrangements to get the goods to the club on Friday, please contact Cindy Frostick at frosticks@gmail.com

Many thanks in advance!
