GAC Junior League 2017 - Update
Attention all Junior archers taking part in the Junior League.
We are making a few small changes to the league to ensure all Juniors registered are getting their chance to take part and submit their scores for year end.
One thing that we have noticed over the last couple of months is that families and committee members have plans or other commitments that they can not get out of, and can't always guarantee that can make arranged League dates, so with effect from today, we are going to make a slight change to help better the league.
The league clipboards and score cards will be kept in the black box, so if a Junior missed a session, they will simply be able to ask for a clipboard and scorecard so they can shoot their scores to compete in the league. However, there is a rule that we need to apply to this, and that is, Juniors must have another archer or parent confirm their scores and also sign the sheet as a witness. Once signed, these must be returned to the desk with they will be placed securely back in the black box where Rob or Aida can find them so that those scores can be logged and recorded on the League results board.
We have appointed a Junior archer as a league representative of the club and I am very happy to say that that person has accepted the role and responsibilities. Can you please all welcome Enda Keane as the new club league rep for2017.
From my records, we have missed March and April. But fret not, we will make these up over the coming weeks.
All juniors registered for the league will be contacted by text to advise the next League Date, if unable to make this date, please reply back to inform us.
Saturday 27th of May we will hold the next League. Can I please ask all Juniors taking part to arrive at 4.15pm.
Should any Junior still be interested in registering for this year please speak with Aida Alexandru or Rob Sweetman to register your interest. The cost is €25 per archer for the league season; this covers administration as well as the end of season awards for the top archers which will be held at the Junior Christmas Party. Archers on the day of the league will still be required to pay the €3 subs to cover the cost of the rental of the hall.
Please do share this with other Parents of Junior archers just in case they are not signed up for the Club Newsletter.
Should anyone have any questions in the meantime, please do not hesitate to contact us.
Remember, Archery is a sport and can be very competitive……………
But above all else, remember to HAVE FUN! ! !
