MORNING READING CLUB:
Richland SDA is getting ready to start our 13th year of tutoring 2nd and 3rd graders from Jason Lee. This 1-on-1 help in reading has proved to be more well received than we ever imagined it would be.
Teachers and parents tell us their children…
1) gain confidence to participate in class discussions,
2) are more willing to tackle sounding out new words, not just guess
3) take an interest in books, which they did not have before
Teachers tell us the children come to school happy on tutoring days!
We are needing a few more tutors this year because some of ours have moved away or can no longer help. Would you like to give it a try? You don’t have to be a teacher. We tutor through games and other hands-on activities that are all prepared for you. (No lesson plans on your part!)
Tutoring takes place from 7:30-8:30 AM Tuesdays and Thursdays.
You may tutor one day or both days.
Tutoring starts November 1, goes to Memorial Day and follows the school calendar for holidays and vacations.
If this speaks to you, or if you would like more information, please call Ruth Harms at 509-948-1454 or email her at
raharms@charter.net
PS Some of our tutors are working, but their employers allow them to participate in this “community service” activity.
Maybe yours would do the same.
Lost and Found items will be on a table under the coat racks. Please claim your lost items. After two weeks all unclaimed items will be donated.

Outstanding School Series: Time Well Invested
What makes a school outstanding? Our faith-based intellectual development, community spirit, and mutual respect are just some of the factors that make Tri-City Adventist School great. Over the next few weeks, we’ll be sharing several ways that set TCAS apart. This week it’s Time Well Invested, next week, Parents As Partners. Time Well Invested: TCAS respects the significant trust parents place in us when they enroll their children. Valuable time is spent on campus, so our teachers and volunteers go above and beyond to ensure a student’s success, well-being, and character development. Do you know someone you can share our outstanding school with? If so, please connect them directly with Tracy Fry / principal@mytcas.org / (509) 547-8092.

Shop at Yokes? Yokes (grocery store) will donate a percentage of your purchases to TriCity Adventist School. Get your card at TCAS, 4115 W Henry, Pasco.
Donate to TCAS while shopping on Amazon – Consider donating to Tri-City Adventist School when you do your amazon shopping. Go to smile.amazon.com and select Tri-City Adventist School as your charity.

WWU Students Create Music With Meaning
Walla Walla University music students created a catalog of hymns that are personally meaningful to each of them. To share their performances, the musicians collaborated with a group of WWU film students. Led by Jerry Hartman, professor of communications, they worked to record, mix, film and edit the seven performances. The resulting video was recently released on YouTube. To read the full story, go to
