This week's Sermon...
In Pursuit Of... Part 2
Pastor Sergio

   November 21  at 11:00 am

Come worship ONLINE with us!
This year is going to look a little different for our ministry to our Jason Lee families. Instead of doing our annual Thanksgiving boxes, we will be focusing on Christmas by asking for sponsors for our Jason Lee children and their families to ensure they have a blessed Christmas complete with gifts for the children and food!.

This is how you can be involved:
        1.     A $30 donation will sponsor a Christmas Gifts Card for each child

        2.     A donation of any amount will help purchase a Gift Card from a local                            grocery store for each family.

You may choose to do option 1 or 2 or both.

Donations can be made online through Adventist Giving or with Pushpay at or via mail by December 4th.
Please designate your donation as either GIFTS for a Jason Lee Child and/or FOOD for the family.

We are sorry, but we've had to cancel our Bonfire & Carnival Fundraiser due to the latest "Stay Safe-Stay Healthy" proclamation from the Governor in response to the current COVID-19 outbreak surge in Washington State. We appreciate your understanding.
I would like to thank the Richland Church Family for all your prayers for my sister Sheryl Parsons who was in the hospital with COVID-19 last week. Your prayers mean so much to both my sister and our family. She is home now and recovering. Thank you so much for all the healing prayers! We appreciate them more than you can know and each one of you mean a lot to us as well.
                                                                                                Thank you, Sharon
We need to share with you that another beloved member of our church family, Carolyn Bullock, has come down with COVID-19 and is in quarantine with her husband Travis at the Royal Columbia Life Care Center . Please lift up Carolyn as well as her husband in prayer today and please continue to keep them covered in prayer during the hours and days to come. They would very much appreciate your prayers for healing and comfort at this time.
                                                                                      Thank you so very much.

TUTORING: Our church family has adopted Jason Lee students and families for ministry for many years and in many ways.  This year we won’t be able to do all the usual things for them, but we are doing some of the same things in different ways.  A current need is for tutoring to be done in a different way because of Covid.  Are you interested?  If so, we need you!!  Here is some information:
  1. Materials will be provided by the school.
  2. Training will be provided.
  3. Times of tutoring are 4:00-4:30 in the afternoons.
  4. You can sign up for two days/week or 4 days/week.
  5. You will Zoom with the same 2 students each time (they have 50 students needing tutoring, so they want tutoring to be with 2 at a time.)
  6. You can do this from home (one of our tutors is going to do it from Hawaii!)
  7. Tutoring will start right after Thanksgiving.
This is a little more labor intensive than what we have done before – in a way – but it requires less time and can be done from home.  And the students need help a lot during these times.  Jason Lee administration and teachers mention over and over how MUCH they appreciate our church and how amazed they are with the consistent help they receive from our church family year after year.  This is going to be a new challenge, but we can do it.  God will make sure of that.  He loves these children!  Pray about it and see if He is calling you to make this commitment.
If you would like more information about the tutoring (or already know you want to do it!) please contact Ruth Harms at, (509)948-1454.

Dear Richland Church family,
For the past 2 years I have been a part of a team that serves Jason Lee families a wonderful Christmas dinner experience. We provide entertainment, carefully crafted hats, community and of course good food!
The menu consists of a Christmas dinner feast. A rainbow of colors: turkey, cranberry sauce, delightful fruits and veggies. The families come and are seated at a beautifully decorated table. We invite these families into our church home and treat them as our own family; serving with a smile and asking if they are ready for more. Dessert is a powerful thing my friends. The little kids are so excited for a cupcake of their choosing, decorated like a reindeer or marshmallow snowman. Or maybe their eyes wander to a sugar cookie dressed up so beautiful it is almost a crime to eat. The parents, too, marvel at such a gift to be served such delectable sweets.
When those sleigh bells ring in the distance and the end of our party is near, all eyes turn to the North when Santa comes for a visit. He is careful to visit every child and even take a picture for evidence of his existence.
When it is time to part ways for the evening, the team of church members are bombarded with thanks and gratitude. It's almost overwhelming to have that many people saying "thank you" within a 10 minute exit, but last year there was more than a thank you. There was a family that stayed after the festivities to clean up. THAT is what this event is about; bringing someone into our church home and then they actually feel at home. I can't convey the gratitude I have for the families of Jason Lee that enter our church every year to engage and participate; those that I have the honor to serve.
This year there will be no party. There will be no rainbow buffet or reindeer cupcakes. No sleighbells announcing a special arrival or careful choosing of a new winter hat. But there are families that need and deserve our participation in their lives. The generosity of our church family can impact these families from afar this year. I ask that you prayerfully consider making a donation to the cause. For the little boy that asked me for ketchup to put on his turkey; the little girl that went right up to give Santa a hug; the parents that showered thanks on our team; and the families we have yet to meet.
This year, we are sponsoring 15 Jason Lee families, estimating 45 children. Our hope is to send a family package including a family game, sweet treat, cozy winter hats, a grocery gift card and a $30 gift card for each child's Christmas wish.
Your donations can be made online through Adventist Giving or with Pushpay at or via mail by December 4th.

With love and hope,
Victoria Lahti Nadine Willis, Kathy McCall & the Jason Lee Ministries Team
