This map view provides a glance into high-level details of each state's shelter/rescue organizations, population, and intakes and outcomes. The "View Detail" button digs even deeper into the state by showing data on the county level.

Pop Up Grants: Is Your Data Current?
By keeping your data current each month, you remain qualified for Shelter Animals Count's Pop Up Grants! These grants can be anywhere from $500+ and are awarded at random to organizations with a complete profile and complete YTD data through the previous month.

PDF Export of Your Data
The much anticipated PDF Export is now available to export from your account! Each report generates a page with intake and outcome totals for all species in your accounts, and also includes additional details for each species.
- Login to your account
- Select "Data" then "Export Data"
- Choose your desired month/year
- Select the blue button, "Generate Report"
- Now choose "Download Export PDF"
These reports were designed as a tool to share with your staff/volunteers, board, city council, and other stakeholders in mind.

Michael Blackwell, DVM, MPH

Dr. Blackwell has served on Shelter Animal Count's Executive Board since 2019 and brings years of veterinary experience and passion with a mission to improve access to veterinary care, especially for families with limited means. He currently serves as the Director of the Program for Pet Health Equity, College of Social Work, University of Tennessee, Knoxville. He chairs the Access to Veterinary Care Coalition.
Dr. Blackwell has received numerous awards and recognitions, most notably, the U.S. Public Health Service Distinguished Service Medal (which is the highest personal honor award), and the Meritorious Service Medal (the second highest personal honor award). He also twice received the Surgeon General’s Exemplary Service Medal.

Christa Chadwick, CAWA
Christa Chadwick, CAWA, is the ASPCA’s Vice President, Shelter Services, responsible for leading and ensuring continuity in programming across the ASPCA’s national work with animal welfare organizations, and the ASPCA’s New York City-based work in sheltering.
In this role, Christa leads the national Shelter Outreach team, which includes Relocation – transporting more than 40,000 animals annually across multiple routes; Shelter Medicine Services – providing leadership and expertise to shelters across the country; and the Northern Tier Shelter Initiative – identifying and addressing the risks facing homeless pets in communities throughout seven designated states.
She has been a member of the Shelter Animals Count board since 2019.
