Call for Photos
We are seeking photos from shelters and rescues that represent your work! These photos may be used in our marketing materials, website, and on social media. Each photo submitted will count as one entry to win $100 for your organization!

Recent Updates
Manual Data Entry
If you utilize the manual entry option for data entry, you are no longer required to enter a "0" in each field for your data to be 'complete'. The zeros are now pre-populated! Be sure to check all fields are complete before submitting to ensure every animal is counted.
Overviews/Dashboards on Home Screen
The overviews have been expanded to allow you to filter by year, previously, these were only showing year-to-date data. Now you can quickly get your totals from past years. Tip: Take screenshots of these data charts/tables as a visual for sharing with staff, leadership, etc.

Samantha Hill, Data & Technology Director
Samantha Hill joined Shelter Animals Count as the Director of Data and Technology in February 2022. She started her career at Case Western Reserve University where she discovered her passion for details, research, data and organizational impact.
After completing a Masters in Nonprofit Organization, Hill sought an industry where she could combine her skillsets with her love of animals. In 2019, Hill transitioned from her work in higher education administration to support the animal welfare sector through research and data analysis at Best Friends Animal Society. As the Director of Data and Technology at Shelter Animals Count, Hill looks forward to helping animal welfare organizations use data and technology to improve the lives of pets and their people. Hill lives in Northeast Ohio with her husband, dog and cat.

Ashley Pech, Communications Manager
Ashley joined the SAC team at the end of 2021 after spending 3 years as Marketing Manager for Animal Rescue League of Iowa in Des Moines, Iowa. Ashley has worked in marketing and communications for 15 years and holds a BFA in Graphic Design. Her experience in a variety of industries has led her to discover a passion for animal welfare.
After working at the shelter level, Ashley is eager to support shelters nationwide through data-driven decisions to ensure the pets and people in our communities are taken care of. Ashley and her husband live in Colorado with their two sons and two dogs.
