June 2018 Your one-stop source for East Bay events and resources.
What an epic Day of Service!
This past Saturday, over 200 volunteers did some serious work at 10 local East Bay sites, donating a total of 680 hours! All while rocking our new Day of Service temporary tattoos! Enjoy more photos when you click a smiling face above. :)
As our volunteer Ken Balderrama from Reunion Oakland Church put it, "It seemed as if the three hours had passed by in mere moments, but much was accomplished. What a great opportunity for people to get out of the pews and into the community and serve others."
Students, volunteers and supporters will gather to celebrate the progress of the children and youth in our school community. Hear stories that will inspire you while enjoying dinner, drinks, live music, and a live auction. All proceeds go toward programs that support students from under-resourced public schools; tickets here.

Doors open at 2:30 p.m. and virtual reality demonstrations begin promptly at 3:00 p.m; tickets here.

They will close down 16th Street with games, food, a stage with local musicians/bands, a food eating contest, plus a bouncy house for the kids. Every year is unique and fun. CARES camp, a ministry of First Pres Hayward, is a free, summer enrichment program that runs Monday through Friday during the summer. It provides a safe community and valuable learning environment for kids in the Hayward and Castro Valley area without other options for summer care. We are looking for volunteers to support the program - helping with food, assisting teachers, and chaperoning field trips. If interested in helping out, please email Terri Biondi (terri@firstpreshayward.com).
