Young Artists Visit San Diego Museum of Art
Sage Creek High School (Carlsbad Unified School District) 10th -12th grade students enrolled in Advanced Art were treated to a field study trip to the San Diego Museum of Art (SDMA). The docents, Carolyn Dall, Lane Campbell, and Catherine Jones were quite knowledgeable about the artwork, friendly with the kids, and connected their classroom projects to specific art pieces on the tour. "Viewing original artwork was breathtaking", said Art Teacher Megan Herrick. During their classwork, students investigate specific themes in historical and contemporary periods. They will complete a museum reflection and an artist journal as part of their coursework.
