Art Walk San Diego in Little Italy Saturday and Sunday April 28 & 29
10am to 6pm
3 hour shifts having fun helping children with an easy art project.
ArtsBusXpress booth in the Kids Walk area of the festival on Date Street between State and Union. We provide the funds to bus San Diego City/County school children to Arts and Science events and field trips.
Recent studies by the National Endowment for the Arts and others document the exceptional value of field study trips for youth. For example, teenagers who study the arts scored higher on standardized vocabulary tests than those who did not study the arts. They are also 20% less likely to experience a suspension from school. Our mission is to help the teachers deliver amazing educational experiences for their students. Demand for funding bus transportation to the arts and sciences continues to increase. A $350 donation will get 60 students to the arts and sciences for a life-changing experience.
Requests received to date are 50% more than we received for all of the 2016-2017 fiscal year!

Annual Youth Exhibition Museum of Photographic Arts
MOPA MOPA's an annual juried exhibition showcases the photographic talents of local youth. It is now open for submissions! MOPA welcomes students in grades K-12 throughout San Diego County and Tijuana to creatively interpret this year’s theme of SOUND. Artist Erica Deeman to speak: April 27, 2018 Two series by contemporary artist Erica Deeman, Brown and Silhouettes, will be on display. The work investigates the history of race, ethnography, and portraiture through large-scale photographs. Moment in time: May 5, 2018 Over 50 years ago, in 1967, Beaumont and Nancy Newhall assembled the first corporate photography collection. A stunning selection of works spanning the history of photography, this exhibition presents iconic images from Julia Margaret Cameron, Henri Cartier-Bresson, Imogen Cunningham, Robert Frank, Dorothea Lange, and many more. This annual event on June 9 & 10, is produced by the Torrey Pines Kiwanis Club Foundation and sponsored by San Diego Magazine, attracting thousands of people to the San Diego Waterfront Park. Highlighting diverse works of painting, sculpture, photography, glass, jewelry, ceramics, wood, fiber and mixed media from internationally known artists, the event also features live music and entertainment, a craft beer and wine garden and a variety of cuisine from San Diego’s top restaurants.
