It is About Darn Time! by Sharon G. See my book review below.

A new thread from YLI Painter's Threads!  If you were in the Thread Club, you'd be getting a package this month to try!  This is a single curl thread, perfect for special embellishment - you just lay and couch.

The full line of Straw Silk by Silk Road Fibers.  This is 100% silk with 11.1 yards per skein.  There are 52 colors currently and more come out every 3 months!  This is a hand dyed, approximately 1/16" ribbon type thread that is easy to stitch with.  There are obvious color changes in the thread so it's FUN to use.  NOT ON LINE YET!

Ten new Entice colors!

Four new Very Velvet/Petite Very Velvet Colors

These aren't online yet so please email me if you want to purchase them.  I'll have more new threads from Rainbow Gallery soon including Alpaca 18!

NEW BOOK from Sharon G

It is About DARN Time! - Over 125 Beautiful Darning Stitches & Hints
I'm sure Sharon named this book because we've been waiting for another book.  I have SIX copies autographed by Sharon, after those sell, I'll take orders.  This book is spiral bound, 8-1/2 x 11, and 147 pages.  Suggested retail price is $50, at this point I've priced these at $45 so you can add it to your stitching library!

First, Sharon gives us a short overview of darning stitches and the best way to use the book.  She notes that these stitches are NOT numbered but they do have arrows showing the stitch direction.  Each darning pattern has a large, easy to see graph.  Because they're all graphed, you can easily see what your pattern will look like when completed.  Sharon gives you hints under each stitch, sometimes suggesting threads or ideas for the use of the stitch.  The book starts with simple darning stitches and then goes into more "eye candy" ones such as Diamonds, Curvy Stripes, Small Ovals in Rectangles, Small Open Ovals (this one looks GREAT!), and Ruffles.  Then the books continues into two way darning stitches such as Ovals Filled with Medallions, Bars and Open Stripes, Woven Ribbons, Cats, Fish, Trees, Hearts, Martinis, Snowflakes and more.  Darning with a Bead is then suggested with great charts for including beads in your darning stitches.  Think of Medallions with a Bead, Bells with a Bead and Staggered Trees with a Bead.  Next she covers Diagonal Darning.  That's something I've never tried!  Darning Zigzag patterns are covered next and she warns that they do have strong patterns so keep that in mind if choosing it for an element of your canvas.

Overall, I recommend this book if you like to do open stitches on your canvas or if you want to try some darning patterns.  I really like it because you won't have to stop and think about a darning pattern.  Just flip through the book and choose the perfect one for your background or even a single element on your canvas!  I'm sure I'll be turning to this book for ideas when teaching my students.

These will go fast so grab what you want NOW!  Annie Lane has fun, whimsical canvases that you've seen in your Needlepoint Now magazine.  The subjects include cows, chickens, dogs, cats and sheep in a variety of crazy poses.   The names are just as darling as the canvases.  Some have stitch guides that you can purchase.  I've made the prices VERY competitive so be sure to stop in or email/call me for information.  THESE WILL NOT SHOW UP ON THE WEBSITE!  Here's a sampling of some of the canvases.  I'll try to post more pictures this week.

I ordered quite a bit at Market so you'll be seeing NEW items coming in.  Be sure to keep an eye out for newsletters and update web pages.  In the meantime, I hope you've enjoyed the pictures!  See or talk to you soon,
