Doodads Trunk Show

What better name for those items that we LOVE to attach to our canvases?  What's in this Trunk Show?  There are size 11 beads - that's the regular size and size 15 beads.  We sometimes call those petite. There are bugle beads and drop beads.  Drop beads are NOT the beads you always drop.  They look like a round tiny bubble on your canvas.  I LOVE them.  I used them on my Autumn piece for a flower center.  They come in wonderful colors.

There are sequins in 3 different sizes!  There are shaped sequins including all kinds of rings and flowers and stars.  There are new "brick" beads that are little rectangles with two holes in them.  There is Wonder Ribbon for those of you that have been wanting to try it.  This is the ribbon that expands with beads in it, or you can stretch it - see the link here.  There are the EZ Beaders that's a round sticky surface you attach to your canvas with a magnet and you can put it in an included plastic box when you're finished.  There's clear beading thread in a 100 yard spool.  There are tiny little Swarovski crystals in different sizes that look like sequins so you can attach them with thread or a bead.  There are even a few hanging style crystals.

This is a great time to bring in your canvases that need a little something extra and take a look at the wide selection.  Can't visit because you live too far away?  Just check out the website http://www.embellishingplus.com/.  If it's here, I'll send it.  If not, I'll  order what you need but please be advised that the order will go in at the end of March when the Trunk Show ends.  Prices range from $3.50 and up depending on what you want.  Time to load up on doodads!
FIRST SATURDAY STITCH-IN - FREE

Our next FREE stitch along is Saturday, March 5th from 10-4, right here at Homestead Needle Arts.  If you haven't come before, call me and I'll make sure to set out a chair and possibly an extra table!  We stitch, socialize, enjoy lunch and each other's artwork.  We do this on the first Saturday of each month unless I advise you otherwise.  Don't be shy, you can make a lifelong stitching friend right here!  This is not a class, just stitching with friends.  Bring your lunch or plan to go out (Big Apple Bagels is right next door and they have great sandwiches.)  See you Saturday!
NEW BEAUTIFUL WOOD LAYING TOOLS

These were ordered at Market in January and have just arrived from DJ Designs.  Pretty, nice to hold, easy to use...it's everything you want in a laying tool!  You can see them on our website here.
SNOW, SNOW, GO AWAY, THERESA WANTS TO WORK TODAY!

Don't forget to call first if the weather is dicey.  That includes snow AND ice.  I can't change this answering machine from my home but if you get the machine and I'm here at Homestead, I will call you back if you leave a message!  Don't forget to leave your phone number.
DID YOU KNOW?

Did you know that if you see a hand painted canvas online that you can't live without, I can order it for you?  Just send me the information including where you saw it (cut and paste the browser bar information into your email) and I can give you a price and availability.  Although I sell online, I want to keep the shop open for you and would love to order anything you want in all things needlepoint.

Did you know that you can find all the Kreinik thread colors online?  Just visit www.kreinik.com.  We have a NEW color card right here in the shop so if you want to see actual sample colors, stop in and ask.  I can order a color card for you too.

Did you know that Rainbow Gallery has color cards online?  See them at www.rainbowgallery.com.  Yes!  We have the color cards in the shop too!  You can also order your own color cards per line of threads.  Just ask.

Did you know that we give you two free Bohin tapestry needles with every painted canvas purchase?  Bohin needles are made in France and are the most wonderful needles I've ever stitched with.  They're smoother than most and are a joy to stitch with.

Did you know that we recommend Meadowbrook Art Center for all your framing needs?  Located at 10 Mile and Meadowbrook in Novi, Michigan, they're worth the drive.  Their prices are more than competitive and you'll have artists that recognize the value of needlepoint framing your work.  The pears and the blue pumpkin piece in the shop were both framed at Meadowbrook Art Center.

Winter is still here so keep your needles in hand and keep stitching.  I'll see you soon.
