Testing

We heavily rely on your opinion and testing experience so please read this section carefully to ensure a smooth testing experience.

Please read the instructions of this mail real carefully to ensure a smooth beta-test experience for us and for yourself to build the greatest design tool together.

To report bugs, issues or feature-requests, we are using Github's Issue Tracker which you can find here:

https://github.com/quasado/app.gravit.io/issues

Note that you need, if not done yet, a free github account to access the issue tracker. You'll be asked automatically for login or signup when trying to create a new issue. Github is known to be serious about your personal data and doesn't send you any spam.

When creating an issue, we please you to consider the following points:

  • Make sure to use the latest beta version. Do so by ensuring you're not missing any beta mails with a new version. If you are unsure which version you are using, please note down in the issue.
  • Make sure to have a short read about previous issues to help us avoiding duplicates. Also ensure to always read carefully through the list of known issues within each beta-mail to not report any already known issues.
  • Make sure to provide a good title of the issue created
  • Make sure to label your issue with either "bug" or "enhancement", what ever fits better
  • Make sure to include the system you are using Gravit on (online, mac, windows, linux, etc.)
  • Try to provide us a way to replicate the issue as closely as possible
  • Whenever possible please attach as many screen shoots as possible

Known issues

This section lists known issues in this release.

Known issues mean that we are aware of them and are trying to fix them so there's no need to report those. Whenever a new version has been fixed, the issues will be removed from this list.

  • No native application menu yet provided on neither system
  • Gradient strokes with different scaling factors will paint wrong
  • Swatches in the color panel are not yet implemented and a placeholder is used, instead
  • Selecting multiple elements with different styles can sometimes cause issues
  • Arrange commands like bring to back/front are still missing
  • Layers are not yet supported in the GUI
  • Hit-Testing on elements outside a page is not yet working
  • System fonts are not yet supported. Currently we only provide two fonts for you to try.

Closing words

The most important of this mail. Please read it as carefully as the other ones :)

Please bear with us. We know that there're still existing issues but we're convinced to have created something great. This is the first time Gravit is ever released to the public so give us some time to get it right. Furthermore, we are aware that Gravit is lacking documentation which is something being worked on by us. In the meantime, we'd highly appreciate if you'd share any discoveries you make with the others. Maybe in form of a short tutorial or blog entry. If you want, you can also post into our Gravit Collection at Medium:

https://medium.com/design-with-gravit

We highly appreciate all your work on testing Gravit and helping us making it one of the hopefully best design applications one day. At least, that is what we're heading to.

And last but not least - As Gravit is a free product that is, you will never ever have to pay for it, our marketing resources are pretty limited. Because of this, we highly appreciate any kind of sharing your thoughts on Gravit with the outer world, be it via Twitter, on your Blog or anywhere else. We do also explicitly allow you to use screen shoots and any other material for posting from the beta.

We thank you so much for supporting us and also help us spread the word on Gravit. Let us great the best design application available for everyone. Our mission is our passion.

If you are posting anything about Gravit, we'd be so happy to know about it. You can do so by giving us a little tweet at http://www.twitter.com/quasado
