Yes friends, it's that time of year again, exams, exams, and more exams. But wait, there's so much more! This week we’ve rounded up an assortment of fantastic distractions, events and workshops to help keep you balanced and refreshed during this busy season. Check 'em out between study sessions and counting down until your long awaited Winter break!

CIE Exam Jam!

December 8, noon - 2 p.m.
Cumberland House

Relax and unwind before your exams! Enjoy games, colouring, a movie and snacks. Quiet study space will be available and therapy dogs from Therapeutic Paws will be visiting from 1-2 p.m.!

Brain Break

December 8 & 9, 2 – 5 p.m.
Robarts Library, 2nd Floor

Brain tired? Shake it up with a Brain Break! Meet the MoveU Crew for a 10-minute break. Enjoy fun activities, free food and prizes! 


Fun movies

December 9, 11:30 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.
Cumberland House
Refresh from exam stress and studying with fun movies at CIE – come for one, or stay for all! Expect something funny, maybe silly or action and adventure while enjoying snacks and refreshments.


Safety Abroad workshops

December 9, 2 – 3:30 p.m. (USA only)

Thinking about studying abroad? Attend a safety abroad workshop to learn potential difficulties, health insurance, immunizations and travel health, theft and scams, general travel advice, and emergency procedures. 

Hart House happening: Sunday Concert

December 11, 3 - 4:30 p.m.
Great Hall, Hart House

Sunday Concerts have been making music and history in the Great Hall since 1922. Join students and community members for the final Sunday Concert of 2016, featuring Spirit Singers and Varsity Jews.

Making it work

December 13, 3 – 4 p.m.

Get advice and strategies from a professional mediator from St. Stephen's House Mediation Services. This drop-in session will provide you techniques, tips, and information on how to listen and communicate with those in conflict.


HealthyU tip: Yoga at CIE

December 14, 11 a.m. - noon
Cumberland House

Looking to de-stress during the exam period? Yoga calms the mind while it strengthens the body and soothes the soul. Breath work, poses, and a bit of meditation/visualization will leave you feeling centered and ready to take on the stress of exams! Yoga mats and follow up snacks will be provided.

Aspiring photographers: Critical salon

December 14, 6 p.m.
Committees Room, Hart House

Feedback is a key element that contributes to the growth of an artist. Bring a selection of your photos on a USB to have your work critiqued by your peers.
