Partners Worldwide Transforms Pastors and Business People
The packed graduation ceremony was broadcast by two radio stations and featured two church choirs; as was fitting to mark such an auspicious occasion.  The celebration in Jérémie, with over 400 people in attendance was in honor of 25 pastors who had completed Wisdom Training, facilitated by missionary Roger Stanage and his team from Lake Valley Church in Arkansas, using the 13 books of the First Principles Series biblical study guides.

The training began over two years earlier and consisted of five, two-day sessions covering topics such as passing on one’s beliefs, envisioning a fruitful lifework, and building for future generations.  The size of the graduation ceremony is a testament to the transformational power and significance that the Wisdom Training had for the pastors; they are ready to become missionaries and take the training to pastors in other parts of Haiti.

Roger felt certain that the success of the Wisdom Training with pastors would work just as well with business owners.  He recruited entrepreneurs with the help of a pastor in Jérémie, and the two went business to business personally inviting individuals to be a part of the Partners Worldwide and Wisdom training. They had 12 participants at their first meeting.

The business people were reticent to discuss the topics at first, but with prompting they became animated and involved, leaving Roger to simply facilitate and keep participants on track.  Complementing the Partners Worldwide business sessions, the Wisdom training encourages business owners to begin to see their companies as a pathway to bless their community, and not just a means to make money.  Roger calls this Kingdom Economics; using God’s blessings to bless others.

Although the Wisdom and PW trainings are over, and the graduation ceremonies are only memories captured in photos, the entrepreneurs continue to meet with one another monthly to provide encouragement and advice.  Roger will continue to walk alongside the business owners as well.   As a long-time successful businessman and mentor, he offers guidance to the entrepreneurs in growing their businesses, while always keeping the focus on building the Kingdom.   To contact Roger Stanage about taking the Wisdom Training to other parts of Haiti, please email him at
Networking Event a Success!
We were thrilled to have over 50 participants gathered in the conference room of the Villa Cana Hotel outside of Cap Haitien on the morning of June 6th to share and learn from one another. The day was filled with presentations by entrepreneurs and NGos, and during breaks for coffee and lunch participants were able to network and make contacts.

A highlight of the event was a training conducted by the Executive Director of CFET, a human capital management company. Business owner Nadine Emile remarked, "Marlene Gay's presentation was truly excellent and beneficial. Applying the methods she taught will be positive for all the participants present."
Evelien de Gier of FonMax addressed a group of NGOs involved in job creation in her self-described straightforward style, sharing 30 years of business experience in Port-au-Prince. Evelien always inspires listeners.

Shannon Smith of SOIL summed up the experience like this, "I left the networking event with ideas for developing our business model, encouragement from professionals from diverse sectors, and a list of eight contacts to follow up with.  It was a great chance to meet other people who share my interest in creating long-lasting jobs in Haiti."
Keep an eye out for your opportunity to attend our next networking event coming in the fall!
