New! Prayer Ministry:
Are you interested in joining our prayer team for Sunday mornings? We need people willing to pray with people and families during Holy Communion. If you are at all interested or have any questions, please click here!
Digital Newsletter Subscription:

We have implemented an interactive electronic newsletter that is more environmentally sound, and cost effective for the church. You will be able to enjoy a full color newsletter as well as several other enhanced features, by subscribing to the new digital newsletter.
If you would like to receive the newsletter digitally rather than physically in the mail, please go to lcofm.org/digitalsubscription.html to sign up now!
Kat and Pr Nikoli have committed themselves to walk or run 500 miles each, between November 1st, 2016 and October 31, 2017. Not only will this be a fun way to prepare for the 500th anniversary of the Reformation (October 31, 2017), but we've also turned it into a fundraiser for our young people! All the proceeds will go towards our trip to the ELCA Youth Gathering in Houston!

A Quick Warning:

We've noticed that a few e-mail accounts in our parishioner list appear to have been hacked. Because our community frequently e-mails each other, and because there is always a risk of our own staff e-mails being compromised, we wanted to offer a heads up.

Please be wary opening unknown links in your e-mail, especially if it is the primary text of the e-mail. If you are unsure of the legitimacy of an e-mail you receive, it may help to contact the person who sent it in order to be sure that it is something they meant to send.

Fourth Sunday of Advent
December 18, 2016

Please join us for a special nativity service. This Sunday we will have a unique worship service with two performances. The first will be a trio of carols performed by the Chancel Choir: "Away in a Manger"Bring a Torch, Jeanette Izabella", and "Midnight Noel". The second will be a play put on by children from congregation. Manger Tales is a rendition of the Christmas story through the eyes of the animals in the stable where Christ was born. We welcome members, friends, family, and newcomers to come experience our creative tribute to the story of Christ's birth.

From Heaven Above
Advent Worship:
As the 500th anniversary of the reformation approaches, let Martin Luther’s beloved hymn “from Heaven Above” speak to you in our special Advent worship series. Each service in the 4 part series focuses on the divine gifts that come down to us through the birth of Jesus. Service 3 (The Gift of Peace), based on John 14:25-27, reminds us that we have peace with God through our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, and that we are now ambassadors of that peace to all the world.

Christmas Services:

This year Christmas Eve is on Saturday, December 24th, and Christmas Day is on Sunday, December 25th. A sign-up sheet is located in the Narthex for Greeters and Ushers at the 6:30pm Christmas Eve service, and for Greeters, Ushers and Communion Assistants at the 10:30 pm Christmas Eve service, and the 9:00am Christmas Day service. Please prayerfully consider volunteering for these tasks.

A fellowship breakfast will be served at 8:00 prior to the Christmas Day service.

Advent Services:

The remaining midweek Advent services will be held on Wednesday, 14th and 21st at 6:30.
A soup supper will be served prior to these services at 6:00. A sign-up sheet is located in the Narthex for relishes, desserts, etc. The soup will be provided.
Help will also be needed for set-up, serving and clean-up at both of the suppers. Please prayerfully consider volunteering for these tasks.

Practices for Manger Tales, this year's children's Christmas program, are ongoing.

We've all heard the tales of Mary, Joseph, the shepherds, and the Wise men, but what about the others that were there the night Jesus was born?

Manger Tales will introduce you to the animals that were there, from the residents of the stable to the visitors from afar. As each animal pays a visit to a TV talk show, we will see the Christmas story through their eyes and get a fresh perspective on the the wonder of Christmas. The program will be presented during worship on Sunday, December 18th. Children in preschool through 5th grade are encouraged to participate.
