Project Graduation Planning Meeting 2/9 @ 10am
Project Graduation Planning Meeting Saturday, 2/9 at 10am at the Austin Public Central Library (710 W. Cesar Chavez St.)  Thanks to those who have already volunteered to head up prizes, food, ticket sales and the TX Dot grant.  Please join us if you want to help plan the all night party that will take place on graduation (between May 29th and 30th). If you can't make the meeting but want to help plan, email lbjlasaprojectgrad@gmail.com.  We especially need coordinators for marketing, creating a video, set up/signage/decorating, bag check, hauling outdoor lights to the East Communities YMCA, and clean up. Even though the majority of helpers are senior parents every year, we need lots of junior parents too to learn for next year and support senior parents who are busy with their graduates on graduation.
Counselor Appreciation Week 2/4-8
Just a head's up - Counselor Appreciation Week & National School Counseling Week is February 4-8.  PTSA will be doing something special for all of the counselors in the building, but students and families telling their counselors how much they appreciate them is the best.
Advocate for the state to pay it's share for public education
Here is a  quick action from the  #JustFundItTX campaign. JustFundItTX is made up of parents, teachers, and students across Texas who believe the state should pay at least 50% of public school funding in Texas.. Sign this petition written by Texas students that calls upon the state legislature to pay its fair share towards our public schools.
