A Word of Thanks From NocTel

November 2019

In this season of thanksgiving, we wish to send a warm thank you to all our customers old and new for choosing NocTel for your communication needs. We look forward to the continued opportunity to bring you new communication innovations as we learn and grow with you. From all us here at NocTel, we hope your Thanksgiving is filled with safe travels, good food, and fellowship with the ones you love.

~ Happy Thanksgiving! ~
Some of you may have encountered or heard of dual axis charts before. If the saying goes "a picture's worth a thousand words" then a dual axis chart can be thought of as adding "...then two must be worth two thousand!" to that saying when done right. Dual axis plots are what they sound like: plotting two different things on the same shared x- and y-axes.

By plotting two strongly correlated metrics together in several Insight reports, you get both sides of the story. This saves time jumping between individual reports and quickly draws out relationships to identify if the metrics are in relative sync or if one is influencing things significantly more than the other.
For customers with FMAs in deployment with a Serial Number beginning in "VT", Bridge Mode is now functional and enabled! FMAs with a Serial Number beginning with "D0" will not be able to use Bridge Mode as the functionality was added in the newer hardware revision. The Serial Number can be located on the bottom of the FMA.

Bridge Mode allows the LAN/PC labeled port on the FMA to connect to another device to provide connectivity reducing the number of cables used in office switches and wall drops. The LAN/PC port is not Power Over Ethernet (PoE) and cannot be used to directly power a connected handset.
NocTel...on the Go!
A frequently requested option by both existing and prospective customers has been the ability to use a native mobile softphone app to bring the functionality of a NocTel hosted-voice extension to smartphones and tablets. We are pleased to announce and inform everyone this development is active and making rapid headway.
NocTel Go will be available for download on Android and iOS devices to supplement or replace physical handsets in workspaces. Go extensions will deliver most of the same functionality available to extensions on accounts using Polycom handsets. In future newsletters and blog entries we will provide more detailed information and documentation resources to help you identify and plan where Go softphone extensions may be effective in your organization as well as officially supported mobile OS versions.
