Dear Friends and Colleagues,

It is with a great pleasure that on behalf of the Council Board of the European Association of Fish Pathologists and the Local Organising Committee, I have the possibility to cordially invite you to participate at the jubilant Virtual 20th International Conference on Diseases of Fish and Shellfish. Aberdeen will now host the next face-to-face conference in 2023.

It has been a long and very challenging period during which I sincerely hope we have not lost our scientific edge and eagerness to explore, consequently making us winners against all odds. This year our Conference will be organised on-line for the first, and hopefully last time. Although it will be void of the friendly buzzing atmosphere of past EAFP Conferences, I am sure that together we will make it significant, interesting and motivational, in spite of the conditions.

We look forward to meeting you virtually, and we promise to make everything possible to maintain the high level of scientific interaction that you are used to having at EAFP events.

In order to ensure that appropriate topics are covered, including emerging areas, we are very interested in hearing any suggestions for potential topics for scientific sessions and workshops at the conference. EAFP members and non-members are encouraged to submit proposals.

More information will be available on the EAFP conference website. Please
follow this link.

To submit an abstract please
follow this link to the Submission Portal.

We look forward to seeing you at the Virtual 20th International Conference on Diseases of Fish and Shellfish organised by the EAFP.

Ivona Mladineo,
the EAFP Meeting Secretary

All EAFP Members who have not renewed their membership for 2021. yet are requested to complete it as soon as possible. To shorten the time which Branch Officers need to contact all members and collect the fees, General Secretary kindly asks all members who wants to renew their membership to contact their branch officers or to contact directly the General Secretary, Snježana Zrnčić (
At the same time, you are kindly requested to inform your branch officers or General Secretary about your preference in bulletin delivery; electronic or printed form?
In the case that we do not receive your preference in due time, we’ll consider as you prefer to receive only the electronic form of the bulletin in the future.
The transfer of EAFP membership fees for 2021 is progressing slowly.
If this has not yet been done, we ask our members to pay their dues as soon as possible.
Usually this is done via the branch officer. With this procedure, we can save extensive banking costs for transfers from non-European countries or in foreign currencies for our association.
The Council needs reliable figures in April to plan spending responsibly.
For all transfers, please ensure that the purpose of the transfer is clearly stated.

The German, Swiss and Austrian branches of the EAFP have decided how to organize their next traditional joint meeting. Unfortunately, it cannot be predicted whether a meeting with physical presence in autumn 2021 will be possible as usual in a friendly collegial atmosphere. Therefore, it was decided to postpone the on-site meeting in Hannover, which was already planned for 2020, until October 2022.
However, a one-day online meeting will be scheduled for this year in the first week of October. It is planned to organize impulse lectures and short presentations on three or four current topics.

the EAFP Branch Officer for Germany
