Cheers to fall!

Schweitzer does it up right

It just keeps getting bigger and better as the 26th annual Schweitzer Fall Fest offers something for everyone! The outdoor music festival, FridayAug. 31, through MondaySept. 3, features four days of live music, more than 75 regional microbrews on tap (plus ciders and wine!), and a soda tent for the kiddos.Fall Fest also marks the final weekend of summer operations -- the chairlift will be open for sightseeing, hiking and mountain biking. Or just ride up the Great Escape Quad and visit Sky House at the top of the mountain!

Lovely lake time

Ahhh, sweet September ...

It's a little-known fact that Lake Pend Oreille is at its absolute finest in September ... but let's just keep that secret to ourselves, shall we? The days are still warm enough for getting out in the ski boat, and yet the cooler nights just beckon for campfires and cozy blankets. Lake Pend Oreille Cruises runs their daily history lake cruise through Sept. 13, and after that there's a terrific fall lineup of cruises including a Fall Island Tour and a Clark Fork Delta Cruise. Check out their website for a complete rundown.
