Spring skiing bliss

Schweitzer Mountain Resort skiers and snowboarders have a lot to look forward to this spring, with an ample snowpack and lots of fun events on the calendar. Of particular note is the Stomp Games coming up March 21-22 with competitions and awards. And back by popular demand is the Spring Fling Pass with unlimited skiing and boarding March 9 through the end of the season (purchase by March 8 for the best price).

Hit the trail!

Places to head outdoors

Hankering for an early spring outing? This year's snow in the lower elevations has started to fade away, making it the perfect opportunity to hit a trail and banish cabin fever. Here are a few trails in the Sandpoint area to check out:
- Pine Street Woods: 180 acres of rolling hills and fun-to-explore trails close to town (pictured above). View the trail map»
- Pend d'Oreille Bay Trail: Waterfront trail along the Lake Pend Oreille shoreline that's right next to downtown Sandpoint.
- Mineral Point Interpretive Trail: Lower elevation 2.1-mile hike along Lake Pend Oreille, located about 14 miles south of town.

Idaho Club's new clubhouse opening soon

Golfers and foodies alike are anticipating this spring's opening of the fabulous new clubhouse at The Idaho Club. A new restaurant and bar, with additional seating out on the deck overlooking the Pack River and golf course, will be open to the public. According to The Idaho Club, work on the clubhouse is complete, and there will be a soft opening of the bar and grill planned for May 1 with a full opening of the restaurant taking place over Memorial Day Weekend. "Our restaurant will be open to the public and we look forward to opening our doors to the community," according to Lisa Canepa with The Idaho Club. Stay updated on The Idaho Club's Facebook page. We're so excited to enjoy this addition!
