And then it's wheels down for the 10th annual CHAFE 150 bike ride Saturday, June 17, featuring a fantastic route and seven fully stocked break stops. Summer issue is here!

Caution: You'll want to buy (or rent) a kayak

The new summer issue of Sandpoint Magazine is here, and it's loaded with great articles about our place in the world. The feature story on kayaking Lake Pend Oreille makes a strong case for why you should get a kayak -- and go exploring! Pick up a free copy at area hotels and shops, or see it online at

Outdoors are calling ...

Hike the trails, hit the lake, explore!

Now that we're closing in on summer's official starting date, it's time to get outdoors and discover this incredible natural wonderland of North Idaho. An outing at nearby Mickinnick Trail rewards hikers this time of year with wildflowers including lupine and others. And what's a summer day without a voyage on Lake Pend Oreille? Check out the Lake Guide for all the facts on how to enjoy it best. Cheers to summer!
