Cool! Hike to a waterfall

Summer heat, it just keeps coming - but the outdoors are calling! Adjacent to the Kootenai National Wildlife Refuge near Bonners Ferry, the short yet fairly steep .3-mile hike to Myrtle Creek Falls is a great outing for folks who are wanting to stay cool while enjoying a fabulous 100-foot high waterfall. The first section of the trail is ADA accessible to Myrtle Creek and the bridge; after that, the hike is a moderately steep climb with three switchbacks before hikers arrive at Myrtle Creek Falls. It's a fun trek that's suitable for all skill levels. ... Of course, there are many more hiking - and mountain biking - excursions in our surrounding mountain ranges. Go do the Visit Sandpoint Hike 'n' Bike page to link up to literally hundreds of choices.
