Actions to Demand Justice for the OKC 13
At the Intersection of Sexual Violence and Racialized Police Brutality

As individuals deeply concerned about the impacts of police violence on all of our community-members, we stand in solidarity against the sexual violence perpetrated by those sworn to serve and protect us.

Let's take action to demonstrate that an increasing number of activists, journalists and the general public recognize sexual assault as a form of police violence that must be centered in our efforts to combat anti-Black state violence. As we approach Daniel Holtzclaw's sentencing on January 21, join us in using the following materials and sharing them widely:

  • Use AAPF's OKC Toolkit to prepare yourself to take action online and in your communities!
  • Read and share our statement - Demanding Justice for the OKC 13: At the Intersection of Sexual Violence and Racialized Police Brutality
  • Join us on social media! Add your name to the OKC Facebook group and blow up social media with the hashtags #SayHerName, #BlackWomenMatter and #Visible4Justice!
  • January 19 - Join the African American Policy Forum’s webinar at 2:00 EST, where OKC activists Candace Liger and Grace Franklin will join national advocates to brief participants on actions they can take to support Holtzclaw’s victims and demand systemic change to our police system. RSVP at bit.ly/Holtzclaw
  • January 20 & 21 - Join us in taking THESE actions in partnership with OKC Artists for Justice.
  • January 21 - The day of Holtzclaw’s sentencing, join us in sharing and demanding THESE steps toward accountability.

Until we say the names and tell the stories of the entire Black community, we cannot truly claim to fight for all Black lives. Pledge your commitment to join us during this critical moment in the history of our efforts for a society that values all lives equally.
