The show will be hung in Angelo's Hall Columbia and guests may view it live and in person  (Thursdays-Sundays)

On March 6th, 5:00 pm,  there will be a VIRTUAL AWARDS RECEPTION on Zoom (
Meeting ID: 857 3051 3807  Passcode: 460846) where the winners will be announced and the Judges will speak about the judging process and how they came to their decisions.

The entire show will be available online for those that find that most comfortable.
VOUNTEERS NEEDED

This event takes an enormous amount of effort from volunteers.  We would like to invite you to help with a very small but important matter- the manning of the Angelo's Hall gallery in the Columbia State Park.   

We need help for a 2 ½ hour shift from 2:30-5:00 pm on one of the following dates; March 10, 11, 12, 13, 17 and 19.  

Your responsibility would be to welcome the attendees, distribute and collect their judging ballots, power down the computer, turn the lights off, and lock the door.  Don’t worry, a veteran volunteer will show you the ropes upon the arrival to your shift.

AWESOME PRIZES

This is a juried show. The three Judges will narrow down the field of entries to the top 180 images and those photographers will be asked to “produce” their work be be hung in Angelo’s Hall.

The judges will come view the  images “live” and choose their winners. Cash prizes and certificates will be awarded in each category:
  • Best of show -- $300 and ribbon
  • Charles Moore Award Excellence in Photography -- $250 and certificate
  • ​Blue Zone - Natural Movement -- $250 and a ribbon. Sonora Adventist Health may use this winning photo for one year for promotion.
  • First place -- $150 and ribbon
  • Second place – $75 and ribbon
  • Third place -- $50 and ribbon
  • Judges Choice -- $50 and ribbon
  • Sponsors Award -- $50 and ribbon
  • There will be an opportunity for the public to vote for the People’s Choice Award, Adult and Student winners. The winners will receive $50 and a ribbon.

TO PREPARE IMAGES FOR ONLINE ENTRY PLEASE USE THE FOLLOWING CRITERIA:
  • Make a copy of your original photo to apply the resizing criteria.
  • File size no smaller than 4 mb and no larger than 8 MB 
  • Set image resolution first to 300 ppi.
  • Then size to 1,280 pixels or higher on  the  longest side with the other side, width or height, proportional.  A smaller size may result in an image too small for the judges to properly view.
  • JPG (creates the smallest file size), TIF, or PNG format​

SALE DAY

On March 19th, Saturday, there will be a SALE DAY.

The images will be discounted 25% to encourage sales.

Please price accordingly!

 
Important dates to remember:
 
  • December 2, Thursday – Smarter Entry InFocus Competition opens at 6:00 a.m.

  • January 24, Monday – Smarter Entry InFocus Competition closes to entrants at 6:00 p.m.

  • February 15, Tuesday – On or before, notify photographers as to acceptance into competition 

  • February 15, Tuesday – March 4, Friday – Time for accepted entrants to print/mat photographs/frame

  • March 4, Friday – Receive accepted entries at Angelo's Hall, Columbia CA from noon through 5:00 p.m.

  • March 5, Saturday – Receive accepted entries at Angelo's Hall, Columbia CA  from 9:00 a.m. through noon

  • March 6 Sunday – VIRTUAL Reception 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Via ZOOM 

  • March 10-13 – Show is open to the public from noon to 5:30 p.m. ​

  • March 17-19 – Show is open to the public from noon to 5:30 p.m. 

  • March 19, Saturday – Sale day. All works will be discounted 25% to encourage sales

  • March 20, Sunday – Show is open to the public from noon to 3:00 p.m.

  • March 20, Sunday – Artists pick up their entries at Angelo's Hall, Columbia CA  from 3:00 p.m. through 5:30 p.m.
