April Showers Bring May Flowers

If this statement holds true, then in May, Houston, Texas will be up to its neck in flowers! I'm looking out the window of my home today watching, what may be, the 15th, or more, inch of rain fall in the last 15 hours.Needless to say, Christie and I feel like we chose the right year to re-sod the front yard. 

The above pictures were taken by James Tackett of Austin, Texas while he was at last year's lectureships in South Africa. It took someone much time, effort, and expense to cultivate the flower gardens at SABC. Notice, in particular, the white roses in the upper, left-hand, corner of the collage. In honor of her 60th birthday several years ago, one SABC friend donated 60 rose bushes to help make the campus more beautiful. Those bushes now bloom all around the parking lot, turning what would have been a bland stretch of pavement into somewhat of an oasis. 

The same is true of your efforts to support SABC through prayers and donations. The gifts you give today are like April Showers that produce well prepared teachers, preachers, evangelists, and church leaders. They, in turn, bring others to Christ, plant churches, strengthen established congregations, and serve the needy. I would say that is a crop even more beautiful than all the flowers. As Paul states in Romans 10, "...How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

What are you giving today to ensure the world is a better place tomorrow?
