Good morning everyone!
I'm so excited for your personal morning time with the Lord today!
My personal time with Him has lately been spent in my car! I don't want to wake up those I live with.
So, at 5:30 am, I'll go to my car so I can talk and praise as loud as I want! lol ..
Today's scripture is: 1 Corinthians 13:4:
"Love endures long and is patient and kind; love never is envious nor boils over with jealousy, is not boastful or vainglorious, does not display itself haughtily."
How to Read this Scripture:
After meditation and asking God questions about the scripture, I decided to dig deeper by doing a topical search.
My topical search let me know that God sees love in the following ways; love is:
1) actively doing what the Lord prefers, with Him
2) embracing God's will (choosing His choices) and obeying them through His power.
3) Longing for Him
Due to feedback, I'm trying to keep the emails shorter now. So, today we will only discuss one of the definitions.
Let's go over this one, "obeying God's choices through His power."
Look at the definition a little closer.
It says His power. Not your power. Not your mom's power. Not some man's power.
I've recognized that oftentimes we follow through in obedience with what God is asking us to do.
But, somewhere down the line we forget that it's Him who's under control.
Who's power have you been using to obey God's choices?
Recently, I felt myself feeling overwhelmed. I was following through in obedience to do everything He asked, but I forgot that the task isn't backed up by my power. It's done by His power.
As I sat at my job at my computer screen telling God about my feelings, He reminded me of this scripture in 2 Corinthians 12:9:
"And he said unto me, My grace is sufficient for thee: for my strength is made perfect in weakness. Most gladly therefore will I rather glory in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me."
God uses our weaknesses to work for His glory.
It's awesome that you're making the right steps to obey God. It's awesome that you're ready to live right.
But, what's your obedience worth if you're not doing it with the faith of His power?
God wants you to obey Him in peace. How can you represent Him looking stressed out, frustrated, and overwhelmed?
To love Him is to obey Him through His power, not your own.
God's assignments should never leave you feeling like you have too much on your shoulders.
Let's not just obey Him...let's let Him do the heavy lifting too...
PS- The next post you'll receive from me will be on Monday morning! Until then, I encourage you to meditate on 2 Corinthians 12:9, Matthew 6:34, or move on elsewhere as God leads you. Talk to you soon...
