Standard Mental Health First Aid Course - 20th & 27th November, Northern District Community Health Kerang.
This course, run over 2 sessions, guides participants in learning how to:
identify common mental illnesses including anxiety, depression, psychosis and substance misuse and provide initial help to individuals who are experiencing mental health problems.

North Division Active and Healthy Ageing Consultation - 30th of October in Boort.
The Boort forum will include the following:
  • DHHS Active and Healthy Ageing Advisor presentation
  • Guest speaker Dr Kathleen Brasher will align Global Age-Friendly policy to local action, and;
  • A workshop component to unpack potential actions for local areas to increase the focus on the health of people aged 50 years and above.

Allied Health Conference Planning Committee
Department of Health and Human Services are planning on holding an Allied Health Conference in May 2019 and would like to now form a Conference Planning Committee from a range of disciplines and organisations. If interested, please send an email to Nerissa Fry (nerissa.fry@dhhs.vic.gov.au) by 22nd October. All applicants will be notified if they were successful by 24th October and the first meeting will be held on Monday 29th October at 3-4.30pm. The linked document provides further information.
