World Cancer Day

Hi supporter,

February 4 marks World Cancer Day (WCD), a global initiative by the Union for International Cancer Control (UICC) to raise awareness of cancer and to encourage its prevention, detection, and treatment. 2021 is the final year of the “I Am and I Will” campaign that focuses on how we can all collectively make a difference in creating a world where millions of people are saved from preventable cancer deaths.
This year we are supporting UICC’s WCD Solidarity Challenge. This virtual cycling event sees 60,000+ cyclists and some of the top names in sports and entertainment (including Mo Farah, Paula Radcliffe and Lawrence Dallaglio) come together to increase awareness about cancer whilst also raising funds.  The event will be broadcasted worldwide on February 4 on the main sporting channels, and will include a short WCRF video in support of the challenge.
Together, all of our actions matter.

Show Cancer You Care

In December, we launched our fundraising campaign ‘Cancer Doesn’t Care It’s Christmas'. In a series of videos, three amazing and dedicated WCRF supporters – each with direct experience of cancer – highlighted that cancer doesn’t disappear during the festive period. Over 75,000 people have watched the videos, and donated; however, we're still a little short of our fundraising target.
