Bowel Cancer Awareness Month

This month (April) marks bowel cancer awareness month, an opportunity to raise awareness of bowel cancer, its symptoms and risk factors. Bowel cancer is the 4th most common cancer in the UK but one of the most preventable.

Making changes to our diet and lifestyle today can affect our chance of developing the disease in the future. Research shows that lifestyle risk factors such as smoking, overweight or obesity, eating too much red or processed meat, and drinking alcohol can increase bowel cancer risk. However, being physically active and eating a diet rich in wholegrains, fruit and veg can reduce bowel cancer risk.

Veg-packed cheese bake

Macaroni cheese is a favourite in many households, and with our recipe you can enjoy the cheesy goodness with the added benefit of some veg. Our version of this comforting classic contains 2 of your 5 A DAY in each portion and has all the deliciousness you would expect from a warming bowl of macaroni cheese. Donating made easy

We know that donating large amounts to charity is often not possible. That’s why we’ve partnered with Ripples – making it easier than ever to give! The Ripples app rounds up your card payments and donates the pennies every time you spend. For example, if you spend £2.95, it will round up to £3.00 and 5p will be donated to our cancer prevention work – like a digital charity box.
