Awesome Fun Night!
Awesome Fun Night is this Friday, May 3rd from 6 pm to 8:30 pm. If yours didn’t make it home, permission slips are available in the office or on the Jackson Parents’ Facebook page under “files”. We still need a few more awesome fun volunteers who would love to help. If you are interested, please sign up using this link. We ask that volunteers gather in front of the auditorium by 5:45 pm to review expectations and the various stations that need help and chaperoning. It’s going to be awesome fun!
 
Last Chance To Join The Ground Kontrol Board Party On Saturday
Your kid will have a blast at the Ground Kontrol Classic Arcade with Mr. Matteri and Mr. Cornett this Saturday, May 4th from 2 - 4 pm. The $30 price includes two hours of gaming fun plus snacks. Parents will need to provide transportation. Open to Jackson students only. All funds raised support our awesome Bernstein Artful Learning Program. Please sign up here.
 
MAY PTA MEETING
The May PTA Meeting will be held on Tuesday, May 7th in the JMS Library at 6:30 pm. Agenda items include:

  • New Board Members for 2019-20 - We are still looking for candidates for the Treasurer and Vice President positions. If you are interested, please email Michelle Marsden at: vicepresident@jacksonpta.org
  • Girls’ Night Out AND Boys’ Night Out for next year
  • Update on the Principal Hiring Process

RAT Race Volunteers
RAT (Run for Arts & Technology) Race is our last big fundraiser of the year, and we need more volunteers to make it great! Our goal is to make $10,000 to purchase a full cart of Chromebooks for the Language Arts classroom that will be added next year. The run is the morning of Friday, May 17th, and we need volunteers working shifts both inside the building and outside on the track to keep things running smoothly! (If you are willing to work all morning, please sign up for the overlapping shifts.) Sign up here. Thank you! 
 
New Date For Field Day!
Since the last day of school has been moved to June 12, Field Day is also changing. It will now be held on Friday, June 7th. A detailed schedule will be coming soon, and if you’d like to volunteer, please email Kristen Beauchamp at Beauchamp.kristen@gmail.com.

8th Grade Promotion Activities Update
With the new last day of school, the 8th grade promotion activity schedule has been changed. All events will occur on Wednesday, June 12th. First, the 8th graders will go to Oaks Park at 9:30 that morning and leave the park by 1:15 to head back to Jackson. The Commencement ceremony will begin at 2:15 in the Jackson auditorium, and a reception will follow in the cafeteria.
 
The PTA is coordinating volunteers for both Oaks Park and the reception. If you can help with either one, please email Kristen Beauchamp at Beauchamp.kristen@gmail.com.
 
We also need a volunteer lead to work with the office on the planning for these 8th grade promotion activities. You'll need some daytime and computer availability. For more information, please contact Jessica Christiansen at jess_jon@msn.com.
