HELP SHOW THE STAFF THAT WE’RE BANANAS ABOUT THEM
We could use a few more donations to really fill out the Staff Appreciation Fruit Stand on Thursday, April 18. No need to wash, cut up or otherwise prepare it. Just bring in whole fruit! Please sign up here.
 
SHARE YOUR THOUGHTS ABOUT OUR NEXT PRINCIPAL
PPS is offering JMS families two opportunities to be a part of the hiring process for our next Principal:

  1. You can share your thoughts anonymously about the attributes our next Principal should have via the HR survey here. Be sure to select Jackson on the first page. 
  2. You can volunteer to be a part of the interview panel that includes parents. Selected members will be expected to be present for the entirety of the interview session which includes time for training beforehand and debriefing at the end. This is expected to be at least a 4 or 5 hour commitment on the afternoon/evening of Monday, April 29th at the PPS District Office in NE Portland. If you would like to be considered, please fill out the nomination form here.

STILL TIME TO JOIN THE PTA BOARD
We are still looking for candidates for both our Treasurer and Vice President positions for next year. We’d love to have a full slate for our May 7th meeting. For more information, please contact Michelle Marsden at: vicepresident@jacksonpta.org.
 
EAT PIZZA FOR A GOOD CAUSE
On Tuesday, April 30th, you can skip cooking dinner and have pizza instead! The Lake Oswego Pizzicato (15180 SW Bangy Rd.) is doing a “dough for dollars” fundraiser for the PTA that night. They’ll be donating a percentage of all dine-in, take-out and gift cards purchased that day. Be sure to mention JMS when you order!
 
RAT RACE VOLUNTEERS NEEDED

We are looking for volunteers at this year’s RAT (Run for Art & Technology) Race fundraiser. Our goal is to make $10,000 to purchase a full cart of Chromebooks for the Language Arts classroom that will be added next year. The run is the morning of Friday, May 17th, and we need volunteers working shifts both inside the building and outside on the track to keep things running smoothly! (If you are willing to work all morning, please sign up for the overlapping shifts.) Thank you!
